CartridgesYou will need to have 2 sets of cartridges for this refill method to work correctly in your printer (unless replacement chips are

used). See Ink Cartridges Depleted message on page 5.

Replacement Chips(not included in this kit)The replacement chips, which can be purchased separately from R-JetTek, will allow you to refill and use only one set of

cartridges. The replacement chips will also provide ink levels. Chip replacement instructions can be found on page 6.

Warning: Do not use the Starter/Setup cartridges that came with the printerThe Starter Cartridges may fail in the customers printer due to the chip being marked as Depleted, and this condition may

    Refill Process

    HP 932/933/950/951

Syringe Tip Preparation:Using a Pushpin youwill need to punch a hole in the plastic SyringeTip on each side about 1/16 from the tip (See

Figure 1). This will prevent the Syringe Tip fromsealing against the exit port sealing ball.

    1. Place the plastic Syringe Tip with thepunched holes onto the 10ml syringe.

    2. A)For 932, 932XL, 933XL, and all 950 and951 Cartridges: Holding the cartridge withthe Exit Port (see Figure 2) on the bottom, insert the plastic Syringe Tip into the ExitPort of the cartridge and pull back on thesyringe to remove old ink (see Figure 3).Caution: Be careful not to dislodge therubber bushing on the exit port.

    B) For 933 Regular Cartridges Only:Note:The 933 regular color cartridges haveno pressure relief port like the others, so itwill create a vacuum in the cartridge. Toovercome this do the following: Using thesame tools as in A aboveinsert the syringetip as in Figure 3, and pull back on plunger.Empty the waste ink from syringe. Next, place the plunger on the syringe betweenthe 6 and 8mm marks (just air), and insertas in Figure 3, but this time inject the air intothe cartridge. Now pull back on the syringeand you will pull out the air along with the

remaining ink. You may have to repeat afew times to remove it all.

    3. Attach the Cannula Needle (Figure 4) to the20 or 60ml syringe (depending on whichcartridge you are filling), and fill it with thedesignated amount of ink. See fill amountsabove. Caution: DO NOT exceed fillamounts

    4. Place the cartridge with the port facing uponto a firm surface. Insert the CannulaNeedle at a slight angle into the Exit Port ofthe cartridge and fill the cartridge with ink

(Figure 5). Caution: DO NOT press thesyringe against the port too hard as this willform a seal between the port and the needlepreventing air from escaping. If pressuredevelops move the syringe to release.

    5. Place the cartridge with the port facing uponto a firm surface.

    6. Insert the 10ml syringe with the plasticSyringe Tip into the Exit Port of the cartridgeand slowlypull back on the syringe until inkappears in the syringe (see Figure 6). This

will remove any excess air from thecartridge. Warning: If the cartridge is notprimed correctly it may flood the printheadinside the printer.
