The Fairbanks North Star Borough Employee Recognition Committee proudly announces that Shawn Fletcher, of the Library Services Department, has received the Fairbanks North Star Borough Employee of the Month Award for November 2019. Shawn has been nominated and selected for this honor in recognition of his exceptional service to the borough since 2014. In his position as Security Assistant, Shawn is renowned for his ability to work with the library patrons, successfully handling daily demanding situations diplomatically, calmly, and professionally. Challenging situations arise often and Shawn is

able to modify patron behavior and deescalate tension effectively. He is a genuine asset to his co-workers and the public. Shawn can always be relied upon to work independently, handling many unanticipated demands with tact and poise. He is a strong team player who always provides assistance to those in need. His patience and level headedness in handling difficult situations is greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Shawn’s co-workers have expressed their great appreciation for his enthusiastic dedication and his personable, courteous manner. They hold him in the highest regard!
