Abstract

The main aim of this research is to highlight the impact of Human resources

information system and strategic Human resources Management on

organizational performance. For this purpose model was developed and

empirically tested in banking sector of Pakistan. Sample of the study is the

banking sector of Pakistan, comprising public, private, foreign, Islamic and

special ized banks. The data was collected through a survey using

questionnaire from 155 employees of banking sector relating to human

resources management field. Non financial measures were used to evaluate

the organizational performance. The independent variables of the study are

Job satisfaction, Employee promotions, Employee empowerment, Employee

professional standing, employee involvement in decision making, training and

development, union management relations, Business process re-engineering,

Recruitment and selection. The dependent variables are HRIS , SHRIS and

organizational performance. Cronbach alpha is calculated to check the

reliabil ity of test, t-test are used to ascertain association between variables

and correlation and regression analysis is used to find support for or against

hypothesis. Results shows that Human resources information system has a

strong relationship and positive impact on various strategic human resources

management decisions whereas organizational performance depends on

Strategic Human resources information system. Future research directions are

also discussed.
