Human Resource Information System

The HR Information System accesses the standard reports and custom reports available in PersonnelManagement and displays them in structural graphics. Also evaluation of HR Master Data can be done usingthe HR Information System, starting from an organizational structure.

Configuration is broadly divided into following steps:

•  Structural Graphics

•  HIS

IMG Path for maintaining the above settings is –

Structural Graphics

Here you specify the system settings for Structural Graphics.

Structural Graphics is a tool which can be used to display as well as process objects and structures in agraphical environment. You can move individual objects as well as process data on the objects.

It is used as a displaying tool in reporting in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

In the following steps, you can define or modify the settings for the format of information on the objects, the

graphical representation as well as the content of the tool box in Structural Graphics. Using these settings,you determine the application- and user-specific contexts.

Now go back, select your design and double click on Type-Oriented (Relationship)

Click on new Entries.

Enter Relationship, Line color and Line Type which you want in the design. Save your entries

Here the control parameters for HIS are maintained.

The HIS lets you access the standard reports as well as the custom reports available in PersonnelManagement and display them in structural graphics.

Here you can also evaluate HR Master Data, starting from an organizational structure.

Define Data Views

Here you determine the evaluation views for structures that exist in HR.

You can create your own data views for an organizational structure or for a business event group hierarchy.

For creating a Data view, Select Define Data Views in HIS.

Click on new Entries.

Enter View and Text for view, and then save.

Now Select the view and double click on Data Views with Division.

Select New Entries.

Enter Number, Classification, Object Type, Evaluation Path, and Status Vector.

Save your Entries.

If you want to create a new evaluation path you can do so in the table T778A.

Go to Transaction SM30. Enter T778A in Table Field. Click Maintain.

Select New Entries.

Enter Evaluation Path and Evaluation Path Text.

Save your Entries

Now Select your Evaluation Path and double Click on Evaluation path (individual maintenance).

Select New Entries.

Enter the relationships of various objects you want in your evaluation path.

Save your entries.

Define Areas

Here you classify standard evaluations from HR into areas and you can also set up your own evaluations.

For creating an Area, Select Define Areas in HIS.

Click on new Entries.

Enter Area and Text for Area, and then save.

Now Select the area and double click on Views for Area.

Enter the View (created in the prior step) and save your entry.

Define Task Functions

Here you define parameters for task functions.

For creating a task function, Select Define task functions in HIS.

Click on new Entries.

Enter following details for each user group and area:

  Enter a task function•  Enter the executable program

•  Enter the object type for starting the evaluation

•  Enter the evaluation paths

•  Enter the data collection

Save your Entries.

Here you can even call your other customized Ad-Hoc Queries.

Using HIS Transaction

For using the structural graphics you must have an existing organizational structure which can be depictedgraphically.

Use the following path or enter Transaction Code PPIS in command field.

Choose the View created by you, select the Graphical Display option.

Enter the organization unit ID and Execute.

In the reporting tool, you get your customized Area and its specific Task Functions.

In case you require additional task function you can do it through the above mentioned configuration steps.

If you want to change the design, you can do so by selecting ‘Change Design’ under the ‘Options” tab

For using the reporting tools, Select an organization unit in the graph and double click the task function whichyou want to execute.

For e.g. to see the organizational reporting structure, we can select ‘Org. struct. per and pos’ function.
