Tips for Monday’s BCR’s
* Answer every BCR & ECR:
- Don’t leave anything blank If you get stuck, write as much as possible about the question or an aspect of the question
* Answer all parts of the questions
* Include as much vocabulary & examples as possible in your writing
Characteristics of a Perfect BCR:
Your BCR should include the following items
1. Write a Topic Sentence
2. Answer ALL parts of BCR:
A. Use higher order thinking skills (use at least 2)
B. Use specific & detailed examples (use at least 2)
3. Write a Conclusion Sentence
Higher Order Thinking Skills
Example: Even though the First Amendment allows students to practice free Speech, the Tinker case allows schools to limit disruptive student speech.
Example: Because the GDP has declined over the past few months, the Fed decided to cut interest rates in hopes that more people will buy goods.

Example: Both fiscal and monetary policy involve aspects of the government making economic policy, nevertheless, the President and Congress control fiscal policy, while the Fed monitors the nation’s monetary policy.
Example: The FDA does help protect the American people by reviewing the side effects of drugs; however, the FDA should make this process faster so people with severe medical problems can use the newest medicines.
