Welcome to theHTC One (M8)This Quick Start guide tellsyou how to set up your HTCOne (M8) and use somecommon features.

How to Turn onthe DeviceTo turn on your phone tostart, press and hold thePower button.

Then follow the instructionsto set up your phone. Toturn the phone off, pressand hold the Power button.A Power Options messagewill appear. Tap Power Offon the screen.

How to ChangeYour Ringtone1. From your

Home screen,Open the AppDrawer.

2. Tap Settings.

3. Tap Sound.

4. Tap Phone Ringtone.

5. Tap the desired ringtone.

6. Tap APPLY.

How to Answer aCall1. When you receive a call,

the Incoming callscreen opens.

2. Tap the green phoneicon to answer.

How to Send aText Message1. From the Home screen,

tap Messaging.

2. Tap the New messageicon.

3. In the To field, enterthe recipient’s phonenumber, or tap thePeople icon to selectfrom your Contacts.

4. Tap the Type Messagefield and enter thedesired message.

5. Tap the Send icon.

How to setup aYahoo!Xtra emailaccount1. From your

Home screen,Open the AppDrawer.

2. Tap Mail.

3. Tap Other(POP3/IMAP).

4. Enter your Xtra emailaddress.

5. Enter your Xtrapassword.

6. Tap Manual Setup.

7. Amend the POP Serverto be pop3.xtra.co.nz

8. Tap Security Type andselect SSL (accept allcertificates).

9. Make sure the ServerPort is 995.

10.Tap NEXT.

11.Amend the SMTPServer to besend.xtra.co.nz

12.Tap Security Type andselect SSL (accept allcertificates).

13.Make sure the ServerPort is 465

14.Tap NEXT.

15.Amend the YOUR NAMEfield to be the namedisplayed in emails yousend from this phonee.g. John Doe

How to Connectto Facebook1. From your Home

screen, Open theApp Drawer.

2. Tap Facebook.

3. Enter yourregistered emailaddress orPhone number.

4. Tap the Password field.

5. Enter your passworddetails.

6. Tap Log in.

7. Complete any otherrequired settings.

8. Tap the Home Key toexit.

How to ToggleMobile Data onor off1. From your

Home screen,Open the AppDrawer.

2. Tap Settings.

3. Tap the Switch to turnMobile Data On or Off.

How to Connectto a Wi-FiNetwork1. From your

Home screen,Open the AppDrawer.

2. Tap Settings.

3. Tap the Wi-Fi switch toset it to ON.

4. Tap the word Wi-Fi.

5. Tap the desired networkyou wish to connect with.

6. If the network issecured, enter thepassword.

7. Tap Connect.

8. You will now beconnected to theWi-Fi network.

Install and ViewUsage on theSpark NZ App1. Open the Play

Store andsearch forSpark NZ.

1. Tap and install theSpark NZ app.

2. Wait for install to finish.

3. Press the Home Key.

4. From your appdrawer, tap theSpark icon.

5. Tap Register.6. Enter your mobile

number and tap Next.

7. Enter the SMSvalidation code andyour desired password inthe required fields.

8. Tap Sign In.

9. Tap the Menubutton in thetop left corner.

10.Tap My Usage.

Note: By default you will beautomatically logged inwhenever you open theSpark App in the future.

Appendix

Messaging:Tap this icon to send anSMS/MMS message orread messages.

App Drawer:Tap this icon to displayall the apps installedon your phone

Play Store:Tap to download moreapps, games, books andmusic

Phone:Tap here to make a call,view your contacts andmore

Settings:Tap to open your phonesSettings.

People:View all your contactsto either Call, Email,SMS or Share them.

Internet:Tap here to access theinternet on your phone.

Facebook:Tap this icon to open theFacebook app

Mail:Setup your phone to sendand receive email.
