AONTAS Adult Learners Festival 2009

Thoughts from 2008 Local Links....

“As Local Link for the Adult Education Providers’ Network

in the Liberties area of Dublin, participation in the Aontas

Adult Learners Festival gave us the opportunity to showcase

the work of different centres in the area over the course of

the festival week. Working together helped strengthen links

within our network and gave me the opportunity to meet with

the learners and celebrate the achievements of a wide range of

different groups.”

“TARGET benefited greatly from being a local link in the

AONTAS Festival. Organising the day was good for boost-

ing staff morale and team building. Staff got a chance to

shine during the interviews with media and clients and

visitors all enjoyed the buzz created on the day. TARGET

got great coverage from the media and the AONTAS

magazine which we’re still benefiting from. As a Commu-

nity organisation with no marketing or research budget

we benefit hugely from linking with other organisations

and having our own services advertised.

Thanks AONTAS.”

There was a great buzz in the area

and I felt participation in the festival

helped strengthen the links within

the network and highlight the whole

subject of adult education

I think the advice of the AONTAS

team to keep is simple was very

valuable. We were able to provide

a widerange of activities during

the week to showcase the work of

different groups
