CANVYS introduces SM Series LCDs – Security
Displays with Metal Cases for Projects
in Critical Environments
Donaueschingen – May 14, 2009. Canvys – Visual Technology Solutions introduced its SM
series in metal housing for security applications this week.
The SM series is available in 12.1, 15, 17 and 19-inch diagonal sizes. Canvys has developed
customized controller solutions specifically for the requirements of the security field. This
product line attains extremely quick response times from standby mode and while switching
between different signal sources, e.g. cameras, at a switchboard.
All display sizes have a digital DVI-I input and composite video in/out (BNC) “loop through” of
the signals. On all devices, cabling is routed through the base. The standard housing color is
black. All monitors have an external power supply and VESA 75 mounting points.
Its modular construction makes it possible to adapt individual components to specific project
requirements. For example, Canvys has the capability to deliver the 15-inch display with a 350
nit or even 550 nit panel to meet customer needs. Special housing colors and/or front panels
(e.g. 19-inch rack with 8 HU) are also available upon request, as are alternative pedestal
solutions or VESA base mounts.
In addition, the SM series is well-suited to harsh environments and heavy traffic areas, since all
TFTs may be optionally supplied with protective glass. The two-and-a-half millimeter thick, anti-
reflective glass shield protects the sensitive module from improper handling and environmental
stressors such as moisture and dust.
Attractive LCD monitors are based on a narrow housing frame paired with a very slender yet
durable pedestal.
A universal design concept is especially important for customers planning to implement different
display sizes due to the requirements of their applications.
