Huawei Transmission OSN Review

Configuring SDH Services on the Non-Protection ChainLeave a reply

1 The Networking Diagram

Figure 1 shows a point-to-point non-protection chain. In this example, the PQ1 boards are

configured on the source NE (NE1) and the sink NE (NE2) as tributary boards to add and drop services, and the SL16 boards are used as line boards to transmit Huawei SDH services.

NOTE

This topic considers the OptiX OSN 3500 as an example to describe the board layout. In the case of other products, the configuration method is the same, except for the slots. For the slot information, see the Hardware Description of the relevant product.

2 Signal Flow and Timeslot Allocation

To configure services on the non-protection chain, you need to plan the traffic direction and timeslot allocation for the services on the non-protection chain.

Figure 3-2 shows the signal flow and timeslot allocation. In this example, five E1 services are added to or dropped from NE1 and NE2.

3 The configuration overview:

Step 1 At NE1, configure SDH services on the source NE.

1. Select NE1 from the NE Explorer, and then choose Configuration > SDH Service

Configuration from the Function Tree.

2. Click Create on the lower-right pane to display the Create SDH Service dialog box. Set

the parameters that are required, and then click OK.

Step 2 At NE2, configure SDH services on the sink NE. Refer to Step 1.

Step 3 Check whether the services are configured correctly. For details, see Verifying the Correctness

of the Service Configuration.

Step 4 Enable the performance monitoring function of the NEs. For details, see Enabling, Disabling

and Setting Performance Monitoring of the NE.

Step 5 Back up the configuration data of the NEs. For details, see Backing Up the NE Configuration

Data to the SCC Board.
