1 Feature Description of the MRFU V2
1.1 Development Background
1.2 Specifications
1.2.1 Expanded Instantaneous BandwidthCompared with the MRFU V1, the MRFU V2 expands the downlink instantaneous bandwidth from 15 MHz to 20 MHz and the uplink instantaneous bandwidth from 25 MHz to 35 MHz (for the 900 MHz MRFU) or 60 MHz (for the 1800 MHz MRFU). If the downlink inter-module RF frequency hopping function is enabled, the downlink bandwidth can exceed 20 MHz (100 frequencies) and less than 25MHz. For details, see Table 1-1.
The BSC6900 provides the following commands for bandwidth modification:
1. MOD BTSBRDCAP: This command is a BSC-level command and is used to modify bandwidth settings of a BTS under the BSC.
2. MOD BTSRXUBRD: This command is a board-level command and is used to modify bandwidth settings of a board under the BSC. If this command is used, set the Configure Check Threshold or Not parameter to YES and then set bandwidth parameters.
Setting rules: If the Configure Check Threshold or Not parameter is set to NO for the MRFU, the MOD BTSBRDCAP command is used. If the Configure Check Threshold or Not parameter is set to YES for the MRFU, the MOD BTSRXUBRD command is used.
You can query the RX and TX bandwidths supported on the BSC by running the LST BTSBRDCAP command. The bandwidth specifications of the MRFU V1 are supported on the BSC6900 by default, as shown in Figure 1-1.

After the MRFU V2 is added, the bandwidth setting policy varies with the type of the MRFU.
The TRX bandwidth setting function is a new function of the BSC6900. If the MRFU V2 is used under the BSC6000, you do not need to set the TRX bandwidths.
Only MRFU V1s Under the BSC
Step 1 On the BSC6900 Web LMT, enter LST BTSBRDCAP to query bandwidth settings on the BSC.
Step 2 In the case of non initial configuration, enter MOD BTSBRDCAP and change Forward Bandwidth to 150 and Receive Bandwidth to 250, as shown in Figure 1-1.

Index in the MOD BTSBRDCAP command must correspond to Board Type. For details, see Figure 1-1.
Only MRFU V2s Under the BSC
Step 1 On the BSC6900 Web LMT, enter LST BTSBRDCAP to query bandwidth settings on the BSC.

Step 2 Enter MOD BTSBRDCAP and change Forward Bandwidth to 200 and Receive Bandwidth to 600 for all 900 MHz and 1800 MHz MRFUs/GRFUs.
Both MRFU V1s and MRFU V2s Under the BSC
Step 1 On the BSC6900 Web LMT, enter LST BTSBRDCAP to query bandwidth settings on the BSC.
Step 2 In the case of non initial configuration, enter MOD BTSBRDCAP and change Forward Bandwidth to 150 and Receive Bandwidth to 250.
Step 3 For an existing MRFU V2, enter MOD BTSRXUBRD and set Configure Check Threshold or Not to YES and then change Forward Bandwidth to 200 and Receive Bandwidth to 600, as shown in Figure 1-1. For a new MRFU V2, enter ADD BTSRXUBRD and set Configure Check Threshold or Not to YES and then set Forward Bandwidth and Receive Bandwidth, as shown in Figure 1-2.

The bandwidth ranges of many operators exceed the preceding ones. In this case, the downlink inter-module RF frequency hopping function can be enabled to support the large bandwidth ranges. For details, see section 1.3.2.
1.2.2 Enhanced Frequency BandsThe MRFU V2 supports P900M 25 MHz, CMCC-specific 900 MHz, E900M 35 MHz (built-in wave-trap), 1800 MHz H60, 1800 MHz L60, and 800 MHz. For details, see Table 1-1 and Table 1-2.
Currently, the MRFU V2 does not support 1900 MHz.

1.2.3 Enhanced Power CapabilityThe 900 MHz P GRFU, 900 MHz full band E GRFU, 1800 MHz L60 GRFU, 1800 MHz H60 GRFU, and 800 MHz GRFU support the Class 0, Class 1, and Class 2 standards. The GRFU can support six TRXs in the three standards. For detailed power specifications, see Table 1-3 and Table 1-4.
By default, the BTS supports the Class 2 standard. To change the Class 2 standard to the Class 0 or Class 1 standard, do as follows:
Step 1 On the BSC6900 Web LMT, enter DEA BTS to deactivate the BTS, as shown in Figure 1-1.

Step 2 Enter SET BTSPSUFP, and then select GSM Multi Carrier BTS Standard based on the actual scenario, as shown in Figure 1-1.

Step 3 Enter ACT BTS to activate the BTS and complete the configuration of power capability, as shown in Figure 1-1.

1. Table 1-3 lists the maximum power value (in the case of excessive configuration) that can be configured for each TRX in different scenarios.
2. Table 1-4 lists the maximum power value (in the case of non excessive configuration) that can be configured for each TRX in different scenarios.
3. The PA capability in the case of non excessive configuration refers to the maximum power supported by a single module.
The power sharing and excessive configuration are defined as follows:
1. In single-PA power sharing mode, the TRXs in one MRFU share power.
2. In double-PA power sharing mode, the TRXs in two MRFUs share power. Before enabling the double-PA power sharing function, you must configure inter-module power sharing. For details, see section 1.3.1 "Inter-Module Power Sharing."
3. Excessive configuration means that the static power configured for the TRX exceeds basic specifications of power in the case of non excessive configuration.
Description of power configuration
1. When the power sharing function is disabled on the BSC, you are advised to configure power based on the power specifications in the case of non excessive configuration (see Table 1-4).

2. When the power sharing function is enabled on the BSC, you are advised to configure power based on the power specifications in the case of excessive configuration (see Table 1-3).

2 Data Configuration of the MRFU V2
1. For GBTS8.1 plug-and-play scenarios, GBTS9.0 plug-and-play scenarios, and GBTS9.0 new scenarios, the data configuration is described as follows:If both the MRFU V1 and the MRFU V2 are configured in a cell, the MRFU V2 must be configured on the basis of the power specifications of the MRFU V1. If only the MRFU V2 is configured in a cell, the power specifications of the MRFU V2 are used.
2. For the MFRU V1, the old power specifications can be configured. For the MFRU V2, the new and old power specifications can be configured. Table 4-1 lists power specifications.
