Period:2/3

Human cloning is taking DNA and making an exact copy of a person. You may also make a copy and/or “clone” the embryo or sperm cells as well. The DNA is fused together with the egg by electricity and then get a fertilized egg with identical.

What is Human Cloning?

Definitions

Anomalies- An odd, peculiar, or strange condition, situation, quality, etc.

Clone- A person or thing that duplicates, imitates, or closely resembles another in appearance, function, performance, or styleDNA- The set of non-genetic traits, qualities, or features that characterize a person or thingHereditary- Passing, or capable of passing, naturally from parent to offspring through the genes

Pros of Human Cloning

● Defective genes could be eliminated● Couples unable to have children can

clone and have children.● Replace a loss of a child

Pro: The Elimination of Defective Genes

With human cloning, by copying the healthy DNA and the healthy genes of humans, can then eliminate the chances of defective or abnormal genes in the human body. Defects of things such as Autism or Down Syndrome could be eliminated in the human population then in the matter of years.

Definitions

Embryo- The young of a viviparous animal, especially of a mammal, in the early stages of development within the womb, in humans up to the end of the second month

Infertility- Not fertile; unproductive; sterile; barrenSterile- Incapable of producing offspring; not producing offspring.

Viviparous- Bringing forth living young rather than eggs, as most mammals and some reptiles and fishes.

Cons

● Faster aging● Reduces overall value of human life● The heredity of cloned children is unsafe

Con: Faster Aging

One of the cons is that it causes faster aging on the clone. Because an older cell is often being used to create a human clone, there is the possibility that its imprinted age could be placed on the growing embryo. This would then create premature aging issues and potentially even premature death, all because of the cloning process.

Pro: Infertility Elimination

This would give families or moms with the incapability to have children to be able to then have a child or children of their own by copying the embryo or combining fertile sperm with the egg

Pro: Replacing a Lost Child

Many families throughout the world go through fatal incidents, one being losing a child and or loved one. Human cloning would give a mother the capability of having an exact copy of the child she had lost which could make the coping process much easier. This would occur by copying the lost child’s DNA.

Con: Less Overall Value of Human Life

With cloning, there is a possibility that humans would become more of a commodity than an individual. If you don’t like the child you have just go clone a another one, and get the perfect one the next time. The clone will be treated differently than naturally made humans.

Con: Heredity of Cloned Children

The genes and heredity of cloned children and adults would be unsa
