INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION

o Ergonomics is the multidisciplinary subject and in order to be applied in a consistent and coherent way, a model or framework is required which specifies its areas of applications, boundaries and limitation.

o Such a framework cannot be derived from the study of anatomy, psycholology, physiology alone since these sciences related with the human component but not as a human alone …..

o Several attempts have made to describe the role of human component in the work system with varying degrees of success but the most important and predominant work by LEAMON in 1980 with his model EMPERICAL MODEL OF HUMAN MAHCINE SYSTEM.

Lemons human-machine model is computable Lemons human-machine model is computable with the work system framework presented with the work system framework presented here and has the advantage of providing a here and has the advantage of providing a closer analysis of interactions b/w the human closer analysis of interactions b/w the human components and the rest of the work systems.components and the rest of the work systems.

Lemons model was originally developed in the Lemons model was originally developed in the context of industrial ergonomics, but it is used context of industrial ergonomics, but it is used more widely in the present discussion’s .more widely in the present discussion’s .

Human body is the part of the Human body is the part of the physical work and is obey all physical work and is obey all physical laws like all animated and physical laws like all animated and unanimated object doing so ……unanimated object doing so ……

At this stage the over all goal of an At this stage the over all goal of an ergonomics is to provide the ergonomics is to provide the optimum interaction b/w the human optimum interaction b/w the human body to its physical surrounding so body to its physical surrounding so that got the physical requirement.that got the physical requirement.

At this stage it is very important to know the At this stage it is very important to know the posture of the body and the forces ( internal and posture of the body and the forces ( internal and external ) subject to the body so that to know the external ) subject to the body so that to know the effect to that forces on the body …..effect to that forces on the body …..

Human body is basically consist of Human body is basically consist of o Joint skeletonJoint skeletono MusclesMuscleso Connective tissuesConnective tissueso Sense organ and Sense organ and o Information processing system --- the brain .Information processing system --- the brain .

1- THE EFFECTORS

There are basically three primary effectors … hand , feet and voice

FEET HANDS VOICE

Effectors (continue..)

The musculoskeletal system of the body The musculoskeletal system of the body part is regarded as a effectors in broad part is regarded as a effectors in broad sense because no any purposeful activity sense because no any purposeful activity is said to be done without the maintenance is said to be done without the maintenance of posture and stabilization of joints.of posture and stabilization of joints.

The three effectors that we studied above The three effectors that we studied above are support by the musculoketal, are support by the musculoketal, physiological and information processing physiological and information processing systems.systems.

1- THE SENSES

Senses are the something through which we aware about the surroundings. There are basically five senses. However the existence of the 6th senses is still debatable and controversial.

Page 12: human machine system

3- SUPPORTIVE PROCESSES

Human body in order to perform the work requires energy and information. Brain the central processing unit and it provide the information to the different parts of the body so that the work is done. Brain contain low level information so that to control the basic sensory activates and high level information in order to use in the planning, decision making and problem solving activities.

CONCULSION

From the above study we declare the lemons model is really a computable approach to understand the ergonomics effects of human and machine components and their interaction.

Careful analysis of all such factors provides a approach to understand the human components in working environment…..
