TRANSCRIPT
I PETER 5 5 Likewise, ye younger, submit
yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be
clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth
grace to the humble.6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may
exalt you in due time:
PHILIPPIANS 3 20 For our conversation is in heaven;
from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his
glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all
things unto himself.
PROVERBS 15 33 The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before
honour [is] humility.
PROVERBS 18 12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour [is] humility.
PROVERBS 22 4 By humility [and] the fear of the LORD [are] riches, and
honour, and life.

120 So it pleases God to reveal Himself and then hide Himself, then hide Himself and reveal Himself in
simple little things. It's--it's put over the top of the head of man because... If you'd say, "Why would a just God do that?" Is because that man was
made up in the beginning not to try to shift for himself.
63-0317M GOD.HIDING.HIMSELF.IN.SIMPLICITY.THEN.REVEALING.HIMSELF.IN.THE.SAME_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN SUNDAY_
A man was made to rely completely upon God. That's the reason we're likened unto lambs or
sheep. A sheep cannot lead himself; he has to have a leader; and the Holy
Spirit's supposed to lead us.
MATTHEW 18 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
MATTHEW 23:12 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself
shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
1 Corinthians 126 For ye see your calling, brethren,
how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many
noble, are called:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the
wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the
things which are mighty;28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not,
to bring to nought things that are:
HEAR.YE.HIM_ KLAMATH.FALLS.OR TUESDAY_ 60-0712
E-18 He thought more of you than He did of His own Blood, because He
gave it, that He might sanctify you and bring you into His Presence. Oh, it's the small things. It's not the big things that we do; it's the little things
that we leave undone.
GOD.IN.SIMPLICITY_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 63-0317M
36-2 {222} The way up is down, always. Humble yourself. Don't never say, "Well, I've got this and that." You
ain't got nothing. Just--just remember, if you've got the grace of God, just be thankful for it and be humble...?... Just keep humbling
yourself.
55-0807A PRIDE_ CAMPBELLSVILLE.KY SUNDAY_
E-10 Now, the--as I was saying, the Holy Spirit wrote the Bible, and it's written in such a way, that there's no
way at all for man in his--his mental conception to understand
what it is. No matter how well you get it wrote out, how well you can put it
together, it's wrong to begin with. See? Because He's hid it from the eyes of the
wise and prudent, and it's a spiritual revelation.
55-0807A PRIDE_ CAMPBELLSVILLE.KY SUNDAY_
Look at the Pharisees and Sadducees of the days of our Lord Jesus, how that they had it all figured out just to the dot, how that Christ would come and everything; and when He came, He
come vice versa from what they had figured out, just to show that He's God. And it was... He did not come
contrary to Scripture, He come--come contrary to their conception of the
Scripture.
GOD.IN.SIMPLICITY_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 63-0317M
We're not asked to have wisdom; we're asked to have faith in what's
already been said. So you see? But today the scholars polish it up in such a way, and set it over there, and put their own interpretation to it, always have...
They do the same thing today. It's in the same measure.
GOD.IN.SIMPLICITY_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 63-0317M
28-3 {163} Now, they--they were--they were too smart in that day to catch
the meaning of God's simple way of doing things. It wasn't polished for
them. It's got to be polished. It's got to be highly chromed, or they miss it. Now,
but the great Jehovah was hid in His Word, and He made Himself known to the people that believed in His Word
by saving them and bringing to pass a simple message, the simple message of Noah, God brought it to
pass. Now, notice that.
FELLOWSHIP_ MIDDLETOWN.OH SATURDAY_ 60-0611B
E-5 Brother David, and his speaking there of how that the whole body fitly
joined together... That's wonderful, that's exactly right, Brother David.
When we can... Each one of us has a different ministry; each one works different. Each one of you has a
ministry, a separate ministry. All that comes into Christ has a ministry.
That's right. Not only the preacher, but you have a ministry to something, you--something you can do. And (I hope this don't sound sacrilegious), but usually
God has to drive you into your correct ministry.
FELLOWSHIP_ MIDDLETOWN.OH SATURDAY_ 60-0611B
Some Methodist brethren, the other day, had just received the Holy Ghost
(they're farmer's up in Indiana), and oh, they was just all of fire. And he said,
"I've been reading some books," said, "Brother Branham, should we all come together now and seek for
our ministry?"
FELLOWSHIP_ MIDDLETOWN.OH SATURDAY_ 60-0611B
I said, "No, you'll ruin yourself doing that." I said, "You don't do that." I said, "A man that's always seeking for God to
do something, search and such-and-such a things, usually don't amount to
very much. It's the man that doesn't want to do it; that's the one God can use. See, look at--look at Moses, and Paul, and different ones running from it, trying to get away from it.
FELLOWSHIP_ MIDDLETOWN.OH SATURDAY_ 60-0611B
You take a fellow that's always, "Lord, I'll do this, if You'll do this," and things
like that; God knows he'd be a stuffed shirt anyhow. So He just
takes somebody who don't want to do it and say, "Maybe I can use him a little while, till he gets to be one." So that's
about it. It's--you try to get away from it all the time.
FELLOWSHIP_ MIDDLETOWN.OH SATURDAY_ 60-0611B
Great ministries has always been somebody trying to get away from
it (See?), not one who's always... 'Cause, let God do something for them, and then they're all puffed out, big, and "how great" and everything. But a man that doesn't want to do it, just--he just
forced to do it, and then he wants to get away from it as quick as he can, get out of sight. And that's usually the way
that God works.
QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_ JEFF.IN COD THURSDAY_ 61-0112
517-34 If he's--if he wants to do it so bad, the first thing you know he finds himself a stuffed shirt. Like you
say, "God, you give me power to move mountains; I tell You; I'll do something for You if You let me move mountains." No, he wouldn't; he can't even move hisself to the right attitude (See?),
so he'd never move mountains for God.
BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_ BEAUMONT.TX TUESDAY_ 61-0124
E-81 But if I want to, say, to be some big stuffed shirt, to make me a great program somewhere, and put me on
some telecast, universal or something, now that's wrong. I don't...
Jesus lacked one thing. You know what it was? Showmanship. He wasn't a
showman. See? No, no. No. They said, "Why do you fool with this bunch of
holy-rollers down here, fishermen and so forth?"
BLIND.BARTIMAEUS_ BEAUMONT.TX TUESDAY_ 61-0124
His brother said, "Come on up to the high priest. Come on up, and show
yourself, what you can do, if you're the So-and-so."
He said, "Your time's always. Mine hasn't come yet." That's right. He didn't go up with--even with them. He doesn't today. He isn't a showman; He's the
Son of God.
EXPECTATION_ LONG.BEACH.CA TUESDAY_ 61-0207
E-13 Now, we don't--we don't mean to say now... A true great revival, it don't get headlines and things like
that. No, no. There's one thing that Jesus Christ lacked in His life. I hate to say that, but He did. Jesus lacked one
thing, a modern showmanship. He wasn't a showoff, no. He... they...
Everybody today's got to have a great big headlines and bragging what they're
doing. That's a stuffed shirt. That's right. That's not a servant of God. A servant of God will be humble,
keeping himself back.
BE.NOT.AFRAID_ TULARE.CA FRIDAY_ 61-0224
E-29 The powers and gifts of God are not to show off with. They're to serve God by. They're for the glory of God to do something to help somebody, not
to come out like a stuffed-shirt and saying, "Me, my, great..." That's not it. When a man does that, he's little in my
sight. Who is great? One, God.
MESSAGE.OF.GRACE_ JEFF.IN V-13 N-3 SUNDAY_ 61-0827
140 God gives His gifts sovereignly. Gifts and callings are without
repentance. The first thing you know, you go to seeking something, "God, You
just make me a preacher; You just do this to me," and what you going to be? A big stuffed shirt, that's all. You'll go to
some man's theology and some organization, and there you'll pillar
yourself down and canker. Let God do the calling. God will call you; God
will sanctify you; God will give you what He has need to give you. Yes,
sir.
ENSIGN.AN_ PHOENIX.AZ FRIDAY_ 62-0119
E-57 Jesus said in Mark 16, "These signs shall follow them that believe."
What kind of an ensign is it? Some great stuffed shirt? No, humility. The
Fullness of God in Christ Jesus made Him walk like a humble
peasant, made Him wash the feet of His disciples, had not a place to lay His
head.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
77 You know, people are--want power, and really they don't know what power is. See? They--they don't really know what--what--what goes with it.
The--the way up is down always. If you want power, see how humble you can get. Just get away from all your worldly thinking, and humble yourself
before God,
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
...and then you've got more power than the man that runs all over the building
and makes a big lot of noise (See?); because you have been able to conquer yourself and commit yourself to Christ (You see?) to
humble yourself before Him. That's really power.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
You show me a church that's humble, real humble, not a--a arrogant church, just a sweet, humble church, I'll show you a church that has the
favor and power of God in it. That's right. That's the thing it takes, humility,
humbling ourselves before God, and letting God just work through us. Don't
have to make a lot of noise.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
81 And I've always found out that the man that humbles himself is the man
that God exalts. When you take a person with his chest out, knows everything, and you can't tell him
nothing, and he is arrogant, and--and, well, that--that's the person that
never gets anywhere. But you take that person that humbles themselves
and walks sweetly.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
The main thing is, love God and humble yourself with it.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
94 Now, surely, after all these years on the field and around the world, and
seeing different people, I ought to know a little bit about the gate to enter in at. And if you want to get somewhere with
God, never let an arrogant spirit ever come around you. Don't let no
malice come in. No matter what anybody's done, if they are wrong, don't
you never build up a complex against that person. See?
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
94 You be sweet and kind. Remember, God loved you when you
were in sin. And if the Spirit of God's in you, you love the other person
when he's in wrong. See? Just pray for them and love one another.
HUMBLE.THYSELF_ JEFF.IN V-21 N-1 SUNDAY_ 63-0714E
Above everything, love God and love one another. And be humble with
God and around one another, and God will bless it, and it's hard
telling what He will do. Usually when a church begins to get in numbers and
get to getting a little bigger, or something like that, then they get away
from that real thing, the real thing.
PERFECT.STRENGTH_ JEFF.IN V-8 N-1 SUNDAY_ 61-1119
49 I said, "Don't seek nothing. God's got anything for you He'll give it to
you." See? "And just let Him--let Him take care of that." I said, "Then you get some of these times like we got--
have today that everybody's wanting to do this and do that and become some great person. Look what we got into
with it. You see?"Instead of trying to be great, we ought to be trying--trying to find out how
little we can get. See? Then God can use us.
PERFECT.STRENGTH_ JEFF.IN V-8 N-1 SUNDAY_ 61-1119
52 Notice that it takes the--the weakest and the rejected, and
practically every hero God ever had on the front line was that type of person. A person that was rejected, a person that thought he was insufficient, a person that had no ability at all, then that
person's just in good shape so God can start using them.
PERFECT.STRENGTH_ JEFF.IN V-8 N-1 SUNDAY_ 61-1119
That's right. When they feel like that they can't, they haven't got nothing,
that's when God can take ahold of them and do something with them. See?
When... But when we are thinking that we're able to do it, then God can't use us because we're wanting to do it
ourselves.
PERFECT.STRENGTH_ JEFF.IN V-8 N-1 SUNDAY_ 61-1119
When we are insufficient ourselves, then we are subjects to yield to God's Spirit. As long as we think that we can do it, then we can't do it. But when we
get to a place where we know we can't do it, then we yield ourself to God and He does it. So then if it's us
trying to do it we'll fail, but if we'll just yield ourself to God then God can't fail.
THAT.DAY.ON.CALVARY_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-5 SUNDAY_ 60-0925
20-7 Tell me any man, tell me, any women can come to Calvary, and try to be a big somebody because somebody said something. Tell me where you can look in the face of Calvary in its right
light, that day in Calvary...How can you have your day on Calvary and come out a stuffed
shirt?
THAT.DAY.ON.CALVARY_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-5 SUNDAY_ 60-0925
Why don't it humble you to the Word of God? If you ever go there, you'll come out humble. How can you want to be
some big something in your organization with a feather in your hat,
when Jesus Christ the Son of God humbled Himself to a hacked-up body
to a spitted face, until shame and disgrace, and they stripped His clothes off, and crucified Him before the world, despising the shame? How can you go to Calvary and come away anything
different than what He was: a disgrace, a shame?
