HUNTING IN AZERBAIJAN

IntroductionAzerbaijan has unlimited natural resources, centuries-old culture, history

and people, whose lifestyle presents a unique and harmonious combination of the traditions and ceremonies of different cultures and civilizations. The

Republic is situated on the junction of Europe and Asia and thus has a unique geopolitical and geographical position.

This fertile, generous and friendly land has diverse landscape. There are two major forms of landscape – plains and mountains. Mountains cover 60% of

the total area of the Azerbaijan republic. Azerbaijan is located on the junction of a number of zoogeographical zones, characterized by a specific fauna. The animals from Iran, Central Asia and Mediterranean migrated to Azerbaijan thus enriching its nature. Due to the diverse natural conditions Azerbaijan formed a colorful animal kingdom. For many trophy hunters,

country’s name is almost synonymous with Dagestan Tur that inhabits the Caucasus Mountains at the northwestern border with Russia

• According to your request, we’ll meet you at the airport pick up and transfer to the hotel. You can choose the hotel yourself or we can help you to find hotel for accommodation.

• Hunting in Azerbaijan is possible throughout the year, depending on the object of the hunt.

General information

A. The license from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources

B. For import and export of weapon need the following documents: (15 days before arrival)

• Name of the weapon

• Number of the weapon

• The kolibri of the weapon

C. Provide all documents required for export trophies

D. Transport for tour region (for Hubara hunting you have to pay additional for transport)

E. Provide support of a representative of Ministry of Environment during the Dagestan Tour

F. For birds hunting we provide weapons (shotgun) but for Dagestan Tour you have to bring your weapons yourself.

Objects of Hunting

• East CaucasianTur-Dagestan TurThe East Caucasian tur or Daghestan tur is a mountain-dwelling caprine found

only in the eastern half of the Greater Caucasus Mountains.

East Caucasian turs are goat-like animals with large but narrow bodies and short legs

•Littlebustard-Hubara

The houbara bustard (Chlamydotis undulata) is a large bird in the bustard family. The houbara bustard is a small to mid-sized bustard. It measures 55–65 cm (22–26 in) in length

Additional trophies

• Chamois• The chamois is a goat-antelope genus native to mountains in Europe, including

the European Alps, the Pyrenees, the Carpathians, the Tatra Mountains, the Balkans, parts of Turkey, the Caucasus . The chamois (along with sheep and goats) are in the goat-antelope subfamily (Caprinae) of the family Bovidae.

•RoedeerThe European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), also known as the western roe deer, chevreuil, or roe deer, is a Eurasian species of deer. The roe deer is relatively small, reddish and grey-brown, and well-adapted to cold environments

•BoarThe wild boar is a strong animal with fast moves and easily carries its heavy, but strong body on firm and relatively short legs. Boars always keep in small herds consisting of males, females and piglets. Only old bills live alone, and hunters call them accordingly, "singles".

Tour cost

• Typically, the cost of hunting tours is the cost of the basic package tour, accommodation cost, the cost of the trophy and possible extra costs (transfer, interpreter services, lease of hunting weapons, additional hunting days, additional hunting objects, postal and transport costs of delivery of the trophy, etc.

• There are basic packages only for Dagestan Tour and duck or birds hunting.

P.S For calculation of hunting tour you have to indicate hunting animal, number of pax, hotel category, room type, vehicle type (Land Cruiser, Prado etc) ,menu (BB/HB/FB)

Trophies

• As a rule guests get trophies from the first days of hunting. Hunter can also get additional trophy.

• Trophies are boiled and salted, then we processing with peroxide. The animals’ skin are also handled by salt. The next day they are all packed and given to hunter along with international veterinary certificate

• You will be pay for what you hunt.

• - Postal and transport costs of delivery of the trophy - depending on the trophy;-postal delivery is possible but the price depends on horn’s size and weight
