The Husky Smart Shopping(HSS) program teaches low-incomeCT residents nutrition principles,healthy cooking techniques, and foodbudgeting skills. Dietitians, with the assistance ofUConn students, conduct:
Live and classroom-based grocerystore toursFood demonstrations at food storesand in community settingsEducation at farmers markets
HSS programs take place in foodstores, community health centers,farmers markets, low-income housingsites, and libraries.
