Embroidering the Front Design 1. Select design number 21 in the Holiday category on your DESIGNER EPIC™

sewing and embroidery machine. 2. Fuse stabilizer on the wrong side of the main fabric. 3. Hoop the fabric in the 260 x 200mm hoop. 4. Follow the prompts on screen to embroider the design.

Note: This is an applique design, which your machine will stop for you to add the fabric and stop for you to trim the added fabric down to the outline.

5. Cut the wedge shape around the finished design. Sewing the Top

Note: The seam allowance is ¼” unless otherwise specified. 1. Sew one main fabric accent to the straight line of the green accent,

matching the top edges. Press. 2. Sew the straight edge of a green accent along the side of the green and

white piece, matching the top edge. Press. 3. Repeat steps 1-2 for the remaining accent pieces. 4. Attach the Clear Piping Foot and sew piping along the two straight edges of

the main fabric wedges. Tip: Overlap the piping rather than trying to pivot for a cleaner look

5. Sew the accent pieces to the sides of the main fabric wedge, matching the flat edge of the accents to the top peak of the wedge. Do this until you have a complete circle

6. Replace the Clear Piping Foot with the ¼” Piecing Foot and sew the straight edges of the accent pieces together.

7. Cut a straight line down the middle of the main fabric wedge opposite your embroidered piece.

Quilting and Finishing Touches

1. Fold the small rectangle in half width-wise, right sides together, and sew along the long edge.

2. Turn these right side out and press. 3. Make three loops and baste them to one side of the tree skirt opening.

Note: make sure the loops are facing in towards the fabric of the skirt when basting. 4. Sew the buttons on the other side to match the placement of the loops.

Note: make sure the edge of the button is about 1” (2.5cm) away from the edge of the opening. 5. Lay the pieced tree skirt on the backing fabric right sides together. 6. Pin together and trim the backing fabric to match the edges of the tree skirt. 7. Sew along the all the edges keeping about a 7” (18cm) opening at the

straight side with the buttons. 8. Clip along the curves and clip the corners. 9. Flip the tree skirt right side out by feeding it through the side opening and

press. 10. Close the opening by top-stitching or slip-stitching by hand. 11. Stitch in the ditch where the main accent fabric meets the green accent

fabric.
