Consequences of VSC-HVDC

• Modern wind parks are required to behave as a conventional

power plant

• VSC-HVDC creates an electrical barrier between 2 grids

• Control system now determines grid interaction

• Disadvantage: fault ride-trough behaviour

• Grid support during disturbances
