Features of a good experiment:

1. It has only one experimental variable and is clearly identified. 

2. The independent variable is usually the experimental variable.

3. Dependent variable usually provides the data for your conclusions. 

4. it has at least one experimental group and one controlled group in which ideally all variables are controlled except the experimental variable. 

5. There is a good size sample to make conclusions valid, in live subjects the number controls for genetic variability.
