MISSION XIV: FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!LABORATORY SO2SO2 was one of the first laboratories discovered. TheGriffin regular troops were badly prepared at thetime, and many brave warriors were lost in the fightto puri! the site and defeat its vile denizens. In a lastdesperate, heroic gesture, a templar sacrificed himselfto shatter one of the two principle gems of Darknessthat powered the facility. The explosion killed all theclones, but it was not powerful enough and only aportion of the laboratory was destroyed.To this day, unknown to the Griffins, SO2 has neverceased its productivity...OBJECTIVESAs the Heresiarch had envisaged, the consffuction ofeach laboratory is designed in such a way that therooms that control the production ofclones, the nervecenter ofthe facility, are nowhere near the gestationtanks, thus they were spared the damage that affectedthe control room. Despite the impairment thegestation ofnew clones continues and SO2 has beenrepopulated. For the Griffins it is like starting over,but this time the mission to destroy SO2 forever hasbeen entrusted to the Lodge of HodlThe Scorpion player must prevent the Lodge fromdestroying the remaining gem of Darkness by anymeans necessary. Clones can be re-grown, butwithout SO2 all is lost.INSTRUCTIONS. Objective counter I - The previous explosioncompletely destroyed the control room except for thesecond gem ofDarkness represented by Objectivecounter l. Obstmcting debris prevents both partiesfi'om entering the control room directly. The Griffinplayer must open a path into the control room anddestroy the gem ofDarkness.. Objective counter 2 (optional) - represents the high-pressure release valves that control the pneumaticdoors throughout the Laboratory. A Griffin fighter inManeuver mode who ends their movement on thisObjective triggers the valves which clear the blockedpassages. The Griffin player can then open a routethrough the debris and gain access the control room.SELECTING COMBAT GROUPSGriffin: up to 7 Ranks, 5 modelsScorpion: up to 8 Ranks, 8 models

TRAPS, EVENTS AND OTHER COUNTERSNo Traps are included with the Event counters forthis mission.SPECIAL RULES- A fighter can dig to remove an obstructing debriscounter. The fighter must be in Maneuver mode withtheir front facing in contact with the target debriscounter for the entire turn and perform no otheraction except for digging. At the beginning of thefollowing tum (before the Activation Roll) the targetdebris counter is removed from the board.- The gem of Darkness was weakened by the firstexplosion, and can be destroyed by a Griffin fighterin Offensive Combat or Firing mode with anysuccessful attack that inflicts at least I wound.- A Scorpion fighter that positions themselves overObjective counter I will prevent any attack fromdamaging the gem of Darkness.- The debris from the first explosion is composed of atangle ofpipes, blocks ofstones and other clusters ofscrap. For obvious reasons, no fighter (Titans andthose with Velocity included) can end theirmovement or move through any debris counterwithout digging.This scenario was originally presented in RavageMagazine #20.
