Dear Friends and Family, We could not be more pleased with the start to the academic year at Hyde. We enjoyed having several alumni and former faculty return to Bath for Homecoming and Reunion and we are just concluding two very success Fall Family Weekends in Bath and Woodstock where over two hundred families joined us. For those of you who have not been to campus in many years, we offer an invitation to visit us whenever you can. We are looking forward to the coming year. Our faculty is superb. The facilities have been enhanced by recent improvements. The generous finan- cial support of members of the Hyde community has helped us provide financial aid for many of our students, better compensation for our fine faculty, resources for our academic and co-curricular programs. This is a place where we have the physical environment and the human resources to foster the sense of self-discovery for both our students and parents. No other school invests more time and effort in the entire family—all to help each member be a better person. Hyde helps families work to commu- nicate and become better parents, better people, and its worth far exceeds any dollar amount that can be given. We are delighted to be in a position where we are charged with extending ourselves to the Hyde community by asking for help to support such a transformational experience for families. We are pleased to report that the faculty and staff at both the Bath and Wood- stock schools achieved 100 percent participation to the Annual Fund. This year we are hoping to increase our alumni and friend donors by 10 percent – every gift counts! We hope you enjoy reading this Annual Fund mailing as much as we did – Hyde has made a transformational impact on the lives of so many. We hope that when you consider your philanthropic priorities this year that Hyde is at the top of the list. We need your support to continue our message of courage, concern, curiosity, integrity and leadership. It is through your generosity that we are able to continue our work with families and advance the Hyde mission. Sincerely, Dear Friends, As Hyde graduates, Laura and I were forever impacted by our experiences as students. We have since seen our two daughters benefit from their own Hyde educations. As longtime Hyde employees, we know only too well that Hyde’s costs are not fully covered by its tuition revenues. Therefore, we give each year to the Hyde annual fund as an expression of our gratitude for what we and our daughters have received and also to ensure Hyde’s financial health for future generations. Dear Friends and Family,

We could not be more pleased with the start to the academic year at Hyde.We enjoyed having several alumni and former faculty return to Bath forHomecoming and Reunion and we are just concluding two very successFall Family Weekends in Bath and Woodstock where over two hundredfamilies joined us. For those of you who have not been to campus in manyyears, we offer an invitation to visit us whenever you can.

We are looking forward to the coming year. Our faculty is superb. The facilities have been enhanced by recent improvements. The generous finan-cial support of members of the Hyde community has helped us provide financial aid for many of our students, better compensation for our finefaculty, resources for our academic and co-curricular programs. This is aplace where we have the physical environment and the human resources tofoster the sense of self-discovery for both our students and parents.

No other school invests more time and effort in the entire family—all tohelp each member be a better person. Hyde helps families work to commu-nicate and become better parents, better people, and its worth far exceedsany dollar amount that can be given. We are delighted to be in a positionwhere we are charged with extending ourselves to the Hyde community by

asking for help to support such a transformational experience for families.

We are pleased to report that the faculty and staff at both the Bath and Wood-stock schools achieved 100 percent participation to the Annual Fund. This yearwe are hoping to increase our alumni and friend donors by 10 percent – everygift counts! We hope you enjoy reading this Annual Fund mailing as much as wedid – Hyde has made a transformational impact on the lives of so many.

We hope that when you consider your philanthropic priorities this year that Hydeis at the top of the list. We need your support to continue our message of courage, concern, curiosity, integrity and leadership. Raymond Koda Learning is a continuous process, rewards and resultsoften come later and are magnified by time. Giving is a reminder tohonor the effort and commitment to such a life long process. I give toHyde, especially after my children have graduated, to positively influ-ence my personal and family growth. Especially, as an internationalfamily where physical commitment to school is limited — my wife andI fully appreciated the devotion that Hyde school has given to my children in their growth (and continuation of it) — the Hyde processstill holds as a fundamental part of our family communication and behavioral standards for us.

Kelsey Warner My time at Hyde marked the beginning ofmy transition from adolescence to adulthood, from self-involved immaturity to self-aware investment in a personalstandard of excellence. The journey hasn’t always been easy. However, throughout my years both at and since Hyde, theHyde community has been a constant upon which I know Ican rely. Hyde’s dedicated faculty and core character valuesmake it a unique environment in which to come of age, andI cherish the formative years I had the privilege to spendthere. I continue to support Hyde financially and by giving ofmy time on-campus and as a member of the Alumni Board.

I believe in Hyde’s mission, value the years I spent as a Hyde student, and want to ensure thatyoung people continue to enjoy the benefits of belonging to the Hyde School community.

Nancy and Richard Truluck The Hyde School experience — 6 years of it! — provided the crucible for all four members of ourfamily to wrestle with the really important questions in our lives,at a time when our family’s putative value system had gone off-track. We’re forever grateful, and we continue to carry thoselessons about honesty, courage, etc. into our current daily lives. We continue to challenge and stretch ourselves and each other. We see our sons conduct their business and professional livesbased on those same principles. And perhaps most important,we see the way that they and their spouses are rearing their chil-dren, our grandchildren, to become honest, caring, creative, re-sponsible people. We want to do all that we can to insure that aHyde School education is available to students and families whocan make use of what it has to offer.

Verna Mayo-Moore My Hyde School education gave me thecourage to challenge myself by putting myself in situations I mightnot otherwise have chosen. Currently, I am the first African AmericanMiddle School Head at Roland Park Country School, a K-12 independentschool for girls, that has been in existence for over 100 years. I amproud to be in this position. I continue to include Hyde in my giving— I know it’s helpful. I’ve always given in honor of Blanche Gauld because of her love and support of me while I was a student at Hyde. I now add my foster parents to that list, Rev. Aaron and Lelia MaeWilliams, who are both deceased.

The Moore Family Giving generously to Hyde hasbeen a priority for our family since 2001. TheMoore family has been transformed by the Hydeprocess. We believe it is important to “shareHyde” with as many families as possible. We hopethat our gifts over the years have not only main-tained our beautiful campus, supported our pro-grams and teachers, but also helped made Hydemore affordable for some families who might nototherwise be able to attend our school.

Susie Racine A quote from my closing speechfrom graduation 2010 was “Always be truthful inwhat you say and do — the world isn’t about youand what is important to you. Giving back is moreimportant than getting. Never be afraid to giveback.” The reason I feel this is important is two-fold. First, Hyde teaches students to always bet ontruth and second, my mother always taught herfamily that telling the truth was a stepping stoneto building integrity in our lives.

Brian Bartlett I get solicited for donations from Hyde as well asmy undergraduate and graduate universities, but I only give toHyde because I know that’s where my contribution will have thebiggest impact. The Hyde faculty are unbelievably dedicated andhard-working people, so I have full faith that my contributions willbe put to good use and will achieve maximum impact. I got somuch out of my Hyde education and it only seems appropriate toassist the school as they carry on the tradition of providing solidcharacter education.

Richard A. Chesley Our years at Hyde have proven to be one of the most trans-formational periods in my life and that of our entire family. During the pastthree years we have watched our son grow into a confident, compassionateand curious young man with the tools needed to strive and the vision requiredto contribute to the rapidly changing world around him. Hyde has allowed usas a family to not only join in the journey but to grow in our individual ways, and more importantly as a family. While we will miss our time at Hyde, not onlywill it always be a critical part of our lives, but through our giving we knowthat we have enhanced its mission for other families in the future.

Sandy and John Brawn Having started working at Hydeover 40 years ago before Fair Share I can appreciate whatgiving to Fair Share supports. By the time Fair Share started Iwas involved in working with the students teaching them towork together as a unit, being proud of a job well done andteaching them the Hyde principals that would help themwhen they left Hyde. I give as a way of supporting not onlythe education of the student but the family that comes toHyde. I feel that our contribution along with others help thecommunity to be united in our showing the students & parents we care about Hyde and the education it stands for.

COURAGE INTEGRITY LEADERSHIP COMMUNITY CONCERN
