PREFACE
It is my privilege to bring out ‘‘Hydraulic Machines’’ withthe hope that this book would be received with the zeal andenthusiasm by the students and teachers.
Needless to emphasise, this book has been designed as aself contained learning capsule. To achieve this goal thematerial has been organised in a logical order and topics havebeen discussed in a systematic way.
As usual the theoretical portion is supplemented with a lotof practical problems which I believe will made the theoryportion more palatable.
My publisher Shri Pawan Kumar Sharma deserve mythanks for making this publication possible in a record time.
My indebtness is due to my wife Manju Purohit, sonAbhishek Purohit (Software Engineer, Melbourne, Australia)and daughter Khushboo Bissa (Software Engineer, Accenture,Bangalore) for their cooperation and valuable suggestions.
Arrival of my grandson Chinmay Purohit, has given mefresh vigour to embark upon the book writing project. Henceentire credit for this book goes to the little one who, I hope, will continue to inspire me to write many more books toenrich the quality of text books on Mechanical Engineering.
I hope, the teachers and the students community wouldfind this book useful.
