The beauty of a Hydropool Swim Spa is that it takes up so little space yet for its size, can transform any environment into a fun and fitness central. It is because of our commitment to customer satisfaction that we have applied as much thinking to hassle-free installation as we have to award-winning design and product innovation.

To this end, we have removed many of the obstacles to the delivery and installation of your Swim Spa to the point where, if so desired, installation can be done by anyone with basic “handyman” skills. Installation is further simplified by the Swim Spa being shipped pre-plumbed as one complete unit, factory plumbed and equipped with filter, pump(s) and heater. The pump(s) and controls are conveniently pre-mounted on a durable composite platform.

It’s practically ready to go once you decide where you’re going to position it: in-ground, free standing above-ground (with either the optional cedar cabinet or incorporated into your deck) or indoors. Depending on your installation, you can even take it with you if you move.

Aquaplay and AquatrainerBoth the Aquaplay and Aquatrainer are fiberglass reinforced acrylic one-piece mini pools that allow you to swim, jog, and exercise or play in less space, for less money and with less required maintenance than a conventional pool. Both models are available in 14’ (4.3m) and 17’ (5.2m) versions, the decision as to what unit is best for you and your family should be based solely on your intended use.

Whether you choose Aquaplay or Aquatrainer, the benefits of resistance training – exercising in water – are well documented. The Aquatrainer provides all the family-fun features of the Aquaplay, and is also designed for the needs of the serious swimmer.

Aquatrainer is designed around the current created by three powerful yet quiet jet pumps (one 4 HP and two 5 HP each) that create a flat and uplifting force that allows you to swim continuously up to 5 MPH (8 KPH) without turning, as you would in open water. The degree of resistance is fully adjustable so you can choose your own pace.

In addition to this, the Aquatrainer’s shape diverts the flow of water to the two massage seats, eliminating the turbulence and backwash effect that can displace the swimmer.

Aquatrainer is also designed to be free of obstructions such as side benches, enabling the swimmer to take advantage of maximum arm and leg room. This is also useful for providing proper access and room to caregivers or therapists providing rehabilitative programs.

Our unique wide stream swim nozzles project a non- turbulant water current that is both more enjoyable to swim in, but also results in a wider current making it easier to swim in and less likely for you the swimmer to swim wide of the current and get out of sync.

With 180 watts total power, a custom EQ optimizes sound and automatically adjusts the various frequencies. 4) Tapered Safety Insulating Two Section Bi Fold Hardcover Hydropool’s Safety Insulating Hardcover is made from durable marine grade vinyl which, when in it’s closed position, completely seals the top of the swim spa for improved energy efficiency. The hardcover also includes locks that keep the cover tightly closed to keep unwanted children and pets out of the swim spa for improved safety and security. Please note that the hardcover for the 17’ model is a three section cover.

7) Automatic Water Purification (Ozone) When mixed with water, ozone is a highly effective oxidizer that assists in removing unwanted contaminants from the swim spa water. Hydropool Swim Spas can be ordered with an ozone injection system that injects ozone in the water and dramatically improves the performance of the system. The injected ozone significantly reduces the amount of chemicals required to sanitize the swim spa water.

8) Salt Water Bromine System Hydropool’s advanced Salt Water Bromine Generator provides unsurpassed ease and convenience in swim spa water sanitation. The system results in automatic crystal clean water allowing your filter and water balancing products to do their job without adding chlorine or bromine. The Salt Water System reduces the amount of work required to maintain your swim spa.

9) Stainless Steel Hand RailA Stainless Steel Hand Rail is available in either a 33” or 36” version and can be installed using an inset concrete flange. Alternatively, a bolt down deck mounted flange can be used for wood deck applications. The Stainless Steel Hand Rail is ideal for added safety while entering and exiting the swim spa.

10) Wall Mount Exercise Bar The Wall Mount Exercise Bar is 60” wide and can be mounted within the interior of the swim spa and is intended to act as a stabi-lizing bar for stretching and various other activities. Alternatively, the Wall Mount Exercise Bar can be installed on nearby walls for safety and flexibilityexercises.

11) Auxiliary Heater By-Pass Loop Where the installation calls for an additional auxiliary heater, Hydropool Swim Spas can be manufactured with special plumbing that will easily and reliably allow for the addition of the heater. The Auxiliary Heater By-PassLoop includes all of the required plumbing including a check valve for performance and safety.

12) 60 Amp GFCI With Subpanel In order to ensure that bathers are fully protected while using their swim spa, a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) must be installed. For your customer’s convenience, provide them with a matching GFCI breaker that conveniently installs into the included custom subpanel.

13) Extended Swim Spa Vacuum The Extended Swim Spa Vacuum makes it easy to remove unwanted dirt and debris that has settled to the bottom of the swim spa. Simply submerge the vacuum head to the bottom of the swim spa, pump the handle and the dirt and debris is automatically drawn into the vacuum and trapped in a cleanable and replaceable stainless steel filter.

14) Swim Spa Monitor Monitor the health of your swim spa from inside your home with Hydropool’s Swim Spa Monitor. Designed for in-home use, the Swim Spa Monitor is a wireless hot tub control that is attractive and easy to use. It shows water temperature and diagnostic messages on the backlit LCD display andlets you adjust the water temperature, turn on/off the jets, turn on/off lights, and personalize programming between standard, economy and sleep modes. What exactly are Hydropool Swim Spas and how do they work?Hydropool Swim Spa are pre-plumbed and factory assembled mini pools. Commonly referred to as swim spas, they are manufactured from fiberglass reinforced acrylic and are available in two sizes: 14’ x 7.75’ and 17’ x 7.75’. There are two models: the Aquaplay and the Aquatrainer. To swim in the Aquaplay you use the supplied Aquacord which conveniently holds you in place while you swim or exercise. The Aquatrainer model is equipped with three jet pumps and is for serious swimming or exercising.

Why are Swim Spas becoming so popular?Hydropool Swim Spas deliver swimming, exercising and hydrotherapy benefits all-in-one. Since the water volume is only one tenth of a typical pool, cleaning, heating and maintenance becomes a nominal task, at a fraction of the cost. When installed outdoors, they take up less yard space and, when placed indoors, they require less construction and vapor control expense than a typical pool. Another key reason for the growing popularity of Hydropool Swim Spas is, however, the fact that you can swim to your heart’s content without having to stop and turn every few strokes.

Who handles installation and service?Hydropool Swim Spas are sold on a direct basis from our manufacturing facilities or through a member of our worldwide retailer network. Your pool will arrive via a common carrier or on the truck of our local dealer. You will require a crane, forklift or at least 10 able-bodied men to move the unit off the truck and into the desired location. Since our pools are recognized as the easiest to service and most cost-efficient to maintain, you will be delighted at how quickly your pool will be ready for use.

Can I Install My Swim Spa in the Ground? Your Hydropool Swim Spa Pool can be installed in-ground, above-ground or half and half. It must sit on a compact level base capable of supporting 200 lbs. per sq. ft (92.5Kg). The equipment can be sub-merged or above-ground, but not more than 20 ft. of pipe length from the swim jets. Where the equipment is installed above the water level, the optional remote equipment package will be required. Can I Use My Swim Spa Pool Outdoors Year-Round? The Hydropool Swim Spa is designed to handle very cold weather and the swim spa temperature can get as high as 104°F (40°C). If you live in a northern climate, you will be able to enjoy it in the coldest conditions. In extreme northern climates, some owners will shut their outdoor units down in late November and reopen them again in March or April. The operating season is still double that of a conventional pool, and is easier to use in inclement weather. Utilizing the optional safety insulating hardcover is quick, easy, and prevents debris from landing in the pool. The automatic chemical feeder and optional ozonator will keep the water soft, sparkling clean, and bacteria-free.

Can I Install My Hydropool Swim Spa Indoors? If you have the available space or are planning a renovation or an addition, a Hydropool Swim Spa Pool installation can be quite spectacular. Unlike a large pool, it is much less expensive to install and requires less humidity control. The Swim Spa requires as little as 8’ x14’ or 8’ x 17’ of floor space plus a 3’ x 8’ area for the equipment. A service access area of at least 2.5’ should be left on all sides.

With good ventilation from a small exhaust fan, a dehumidifier, or windows that open, you will be able to remove the moisture and keep the room totally comfortable without impacting sensitive entertainment equipment. Our optional, safety hardcover is designed to reduce heat loss and minimize evaporation as well as keeping the pool locked and safe for children and pets.

Is Heating With Gas Necessary? The two Aquatrainer and Aquaplay models are equipped with an electric heater. Due to the thick 2 lb. closed cell foam insulation and the optional insulating safety cover, it is not absolutely necessary to convert to gas – even if you live in a very cold climate. The cost of operating the pool in the coldest months is very economical.

Can I Convert My Swim Spa to a Hot Tub? It is possible to heat the water temperature from traditional swimming temperature of 78-85°F (26-29°C) up to hot tub temperatures of 100-104°F (38-40°C), -an optional electric heater or gas heater will be required on an Aquaplay.

However, this process will take several hours. At the same time, the pool is so well insulated it will take a few days to cool back down to swim-ming/water-aerobics temperature. If you desire a heated hot tub on a regular basis, consider a separate hot tub purchase. The pool comes standard with multiple massage jets at the seated end that delivers a relaxing massage. We manufacture a full line of hot tubs suitable to all budgets.

We also believe that the seating comfort and hydrotherapy benefits of these combo units are not as effective or as enjoyable to use when com-pared to our stand-alone units. A stand-alone hot tub provides excellent hydrotherapy as it offers more potential to create a maximized design. Is a Fence Required? We recommend that you check with your local building/bylaw department for any restrictions or requirements. What Maintenance is Required? Like any pool, the Hydropool Swim Spa will require the addition of chemicals to kill bacteria and to balance ph and alkalinity. A Hydropool contains about 1/10 of the water found in an average pool and, correspondingly, requires less chemicals. Hydropool employs an inline automatic brominator with a 75 sq. ft. cartridge filter to simplify the water care process. In addition, we recommend an ozonator to further reduce chemical requirements while making the water soft and gentle to the skin. In an outdoor setting, use of the hardcover will keep airborne debris from entering the water as it maintains temperatures and reduces moisture loss. This eliminates the need to vacuum the pool bottom regularly.

Operating Costs? Indoors, your Hydropool Swim Spa, when equipped with the 5.5 kW electric heater, will operate for well less than $100/month in most regions of North America. Outdoors, when located in colder regions, the costs will be similar for the warmer six to eight months but will increase in the colder winter months.
