Installing Pre-Requisites

The 'Pre-Requisites' files are located in the ‘Pre-Requisites’ folder inside the HyTracks CD you received. It is also located on our server. (http://www.hytracks.com/Pre-Requisites.zip).

Obs: It is required to use a computer running Windows 7 operational system.

1. First of all, install the Hytera USB Driver ('USB-V03.01.01.004\driverinstaller\ Digital USB Driver\DigitalUSBDriver.exe').

2. Install the most current HYTERA Customer Programming Software (CPS).

3. Install Microsoft.NET Framework 4 ('.NET Framework 4.0\ dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64').

4. Install Microsoft Visual C++ ('Visual C++ 2010\vcredist_x86_2010').

5. Install SQL Express 2008 R2 ('SQL EXPRESS 2008\SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU').* During the installation, it is necessary to choose the option “Mixed Authentication Mode” and specify a password. After that, click NEXT to all screens without making any changes. We recommend to use password: HYtera

6. Go to CONTROL PANEL – USER ACCOUNTS. Click ACHANGE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL and set the bar to the lowest level (NEVER NOTIFY).

7. Reboot the computer.

Installing HyTracks

The software files are located inside the folder 'HyTracks_v1.6.0.40' of HyTracks CD. They are also available from the link bellow.

1. Open the ‘HyTracks_v1.6.0.40' folder. Double click 'HyTracks_v1.6.0.40.exe'. The installation window will appear.

Click 'NEXT' to begin the installation.

2. Choose 'COMPLETE'.

3. Click 'INSTALL'.


4. After the installation process is finished, click 'Finish' to exit setup wizard.


DEMO License

The DEMONSTRATION license is placed automatically on the default folder:

'C:\Program Files\BPC Telecom\HyTracks 1.6\HyTracks_Demo.lic'.

The license expires in 30 days.

There are NO LIMITATIONS of any feature in this license.

COMMERCIAL License

The COMMERCIAL license is located on the 'License' folder of the HyTracks CD. It is also sent to the registered email on the purchase moment.

Go to the folder where HyTracks was installed and REMOVE the DEMO license.

'C:\Program Files\BPC Telecom\HyTracks 1.6\HyTracks_Demo.lic'.

Then, COPY the COMMERCIAL license and PASTE on the folder where HyTracks was installed:

'C:\Program Files\BPC Telecom\HyTracks 1.6

OBS: CAN NOT BE 2 LICENSE FILES ON THE SAME FOLDER.


Configuring HyTracks

1. After install HyTracks, double click the 'Hytracks Server' icon.

2. The Server configuration screen will appear:

The default language is English.

You can select any other language and click SAVE SETTINGS. Example bellow:

Mode Specify the HyTracks operation mode:

Normal – Specify the SERVER mode for HyTracks.

There can be only 1 Server per system!

GATEWAY – Specify the GATEWAY mode for HyTracks.

The GATEWAY mode must be selected when there is a IP link between GATEWAY PC and SERVER PC, to operate in a distant area, where the control station connected to Server PC cant cover.

The GATEWAY PC can have multiple control stations connected.

Port Specify the communication port between HyTracks Server, Gateway and Consoles.

Default: 7070Default Admin Account Specify the parameters for the initial system account.

Default: AdminPassword: ---------Confirm Password: ---------

Enable Default Admin Account Enable or disable the initial system account.

This account must be enabled for initial system configuration, and can be changed or disabled

Save Changes Apply the changes made in the active Server.Stop Service Stop the HyTracks Server or Gateway Service.Uninstall Service Uninstall HyTracks Server or Gateway Service.

It is highly recommended to keep installed the Windows service for higher system stability.


3. Follow the steps listed bellow:

- Choose your language- Set Operation Mode to 'NORMAL'- Enable Default Admin account and specify a password for higher security (optional)- Install the Windows Service- Click 'Save Changes' (if applicable).


4. Double click the 'Hytracks Console' icon.

5. The login window will appear, fill the login and password according to the 'Default Admin Account' settings.

OBS: In case you did not specified password for the 'Default Admin Account', just fill the login and leave password field blank.

After click 'Connect', the message bellow will appear. Click YES to reload the server settings.


6. Click on the SETTINGS TAB, then click 'Database' and click 'Create Database'.

FIELD DESCRIPTIONSQL Server Specify the name of the SQL Server.

Database Specify the Database name.

Authorization Specify the type of authorization that will be used to access the SQL Server.

Windows Authentication – The current windows user credentials will be used.SQL Authentication (Recommended) – The SQL embedded account will be used (sa).User Name: Fill the SQL Server user name (sa).Password: SQL Server 'sa' user password (This is the same password defined during SQL Server installation, in 'Mixed Mode')


7. After create Database, click 'OK' button located on the bottom right corner of the screen.

8. By clicking 'Apply Configuration', the Server will restart. After a few seconds, click 'connect'.

OBS: Behind the Login Screen will be a message about the software disconnected by host. This message is expected, just click OK to close it.


9. After reconnect, click 'Account Management'. Then click 'Add New'.


10. Fill the fields to create the Administrator Account for system management. This account is alternative to the Default Admin account, and we recommend you create it.

Bellow is a suggestion for the Administration account settings.

OBS: INCLUDE THIS ACCOUNT TO 'ADMINISTRATOR ROLE' as image above.

11. Click 'OK' button located on the bottom right corner of the screen.


12. Click FILE – CONNECT TO SERVER...

13. Use the Administrator account credentials created on step 10 and click 'Connect'.


14. Click on the SETTING TAB, then 'Control Stations', and 'ADD'.


15. Fill the Control Station parameters. Bellow are our recommended settings.


FIELD DESCRIPTIONName Specify the control station name.

This name will be displayed inside the channel box in dispatch console radio screen.

Radio ID Specify the control station ID.

This parameter must be the same as programmed in the radio.

IP Address Specify the control station IP address.


The DEFAULT IP ADDRESS for the Hytera radios is: 192.168.10.1.

Test This button certify the successful connection between the SERVER PC and the Control Station.

Voice Control Station Check this box if this Control Station will be used for VOICE.

Sound Player Specify the audio device that will be used by the control station.

Sound Recorder Specify the audio device that will be used by the control station.

16. After creating the Control Station, click 'OK'.


17. Click 'Radio Management' – 'Add New Radio...'.


18. Enter the radio parameters.


FIELD DESCRIPTIONName Specify the radio name.

This name will be displayed in the radios list of dispatch console radio screen.

Radio ID Specify the Radio ID.


Icon Specify the Icon set that will be used for this radio.

Portable Radio: 'Person' icon.Mobile Radio: 'Car' icon.

Text Messaging Specify if this radio is Text Messaging capable.

N/A: Radio without display or not capable of receiving text messages.

Enabled: Radio with display and capable of receiving text messages.


FIELD DESCRIPTIONGPS Specify if the radio is GPS cabaple.

N/A: Radio is not GPS capable.Enabled by server settings: Uses the global GPS interval defined in Server.Custom Settings: Uses custom GPS interval, defined individually for each radio.

GPS trigger interval(s) Specify the custom GPS interval for the selected radio.

Only accessible when the GPS is configured as 'Custom Settings'.


19. Click 'Group Management' – 'Add New Group...'.


20. Enter the Group parameters.


FIELD DESCRIPTIONGroup ID Specify the Group ID.

This parameter must be the same as programmed in the radios.

CallSign Specify the Group name.

This name will be displayed inside the channel box in dispatch console radio screen.

Description Add a description about the group (optional).

21. After finish configuring HyTracks, click on the Radio TAB and start using the system!


ATTENTION: For better system stability we recommend to use a different PC for the Console application. In this case, on the console LOGIN screen, replace the IP address 127.0.0.1 by the IP address of the PC that is running the HyTracks SERVER application.
