Speedy filtrationprecisely controlled

For all-around filtration, gas washing andgas absorption, PYREX brand FrittedGlassware gives you many special ad-vantages.

These features are important to you-1. Five different porosities, accurately

controlled, permit the handling ofvery coarse to ultra-fine materials.

2. Maximum flexibility is afforded by awide variety of standard shapes andsizes.

3. All fritted discs are made of PYREX

brand glass No. 774 for high chemi-cal and thermal resistance.

4. Product contamination or lint de-posit is eliminated as no paper orasbestos is required.

5. Condition of filter can be observedreadily above and below discs.

6. Discs are easily cleaned chemicallyfor reuse.

Specify PYREX Fritted Ware for moreaccurate analyses and long service life.Your laboratory dealer stocks PYREXFritted Glassware for you.

NEW Improved Barcroft-Warburg Apparatus* Stainless Steel Water Bath * Thermostatic Control ± O.050C

* Dual Shaking Mechanism * Flexible Constant Speed Control

This improved Barcroft-Warburg Apparatuswith.stainless steel water bath, controlled by athermostat sensitive to + o.os°C, offers an idealunit for exact measurement of cell respirationunder controlled conditions. The new largecapacity water bath provides every conveniencefor efficient, silent operation. It is made en-tirely of stainless steel, eliminating any possi-bility of corrosion. An improved hydraulicthermostat sensitive to ± o.os°C maintains aconstant temperature throughout the entirebath from room to 40oC. Uniform tempera-ture is further assured by means of a heavy-duty stirrer. This non-sparking stirrer has aninternal cooling fan to permit operation underheavy load without overheating. Two efficientimmersion heaters, controlled by individualswitches, are mounted at the bottom of thebath. Both heaters are used to bring the bathup to temperature quickly but only one isneeded during operation. Racks supportingthe manometers on each side of the bath areoscillated by independent shaking mechanismswith individual rheostat control. This permitstwo series of experiments to be carried outsimultaneously at different speeds, and in caseofbreakdown a standby unit is available. The

shakers have an amplitude of o to 4 cm andmay be adjusted for speeds of 50 to i40 r.p.m.The shaking speed is practically constant re-gardless of variation in line voltage. Manome-ters are mounted on improved support standswith special locking screws to hold themsecurely in place. A white panel behind thegraduations facilitates accurate readings. Ma-nometers and reaction flasks are of "Pyrex"glass and equipped with interchangeableground glass joints. Full information andcomplete bibliography on request.

JL14200-Barcroft-Warburg Apparatus, forfourteenmanometers, as described, with stirrer, twotable stands for seven manometers but with-out glassware, manometer supports, or ther-mometer. Inside dimensions of bath, I4' x291/' X io' deep; over-all dimensions, i51A'X 351/2' X 27/' high. For ii -volts, 6ocycles, AC or DC, each.......... $677.50
