ANALYSIS

(Opening 3 Minutes)

SOUNDTRACK

Use of non-diegetic background noise. The only diegetic sound is of the main

characters car, as the opening shows a deserted New York City.

CAMERAWORK

Establishing shot of New York to begin with. This sets the scene and location of the film.

Low angle shot of Times Square, to yet again establish the location.

There is then a close up on the main character looking bewildered and confused. This shot introduces the main character to the audience.

EDITING

Slow paced to begin with. The pace becomes faster which creates

suspense for the audience.

MIS-EN-SCENE

It comes across as a very dark and eerie atmosphere.

There are a row of military tanks which raises questions for the audience and could also be use as a clue as to what might happen later in the film.

The character also seems to be followed by a dog which also raises questions, creating the enigma code.
