“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I

know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in

the resurrection at the last day.”Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by

believing in me will never die.”John 11:21-26

Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and

was glad.”“You are not yet fifty years old,” they said

to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”“Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered,

“before Abraham was born, I am!” At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the

temple grounds.John 8:56-59

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and

who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

John 11:21-26

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in

the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had

received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from

such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to

deliver us, as you help us by your prayers.2 Cor 1:8-11

He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and

calls into being things that were not.Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so

became the father of many nations… Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his

body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also

dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was

strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do

what he had promised.Rom 4:17-25
