IV. TELECOMMUNICATIONS UES
The current NRC concept of ERDS includes rel ance on the publicswitched'phone network, and the utility's corporate phone networkas a pathway to it, for the data transmission to NRC Headquarte s.In this section we seek information about the utility's telephonesystem and the required capabilities of computer equipment tocontrol dialing attempts through it. Dialing from NRC Headquarte sto the site is also a possibility. There is concern about the .possibility of congestion in the public network, so some questionswill seek information about the possibility of using the geog aphiccoverage of the ut'lity's phone network to bypass this congestion.
