ABSTRACT

On behalf of Benton Resources Corporation, a magnetic field and a resistivity / induced polarization surveys were performed on the Sally Lake Grid of the Bermuda Project located in the Marathon region of Ontario.

During September 2007, a total of 24.2 km of magnetic surveying and 18.3 km of IP surveying acquired in the pole-dipole configuration (electrode spacing of a = 50 m and number of dipoles n = 1 to 6) was carried out over the property. Survey specifications, instrumentation control, data acquisition, processing and interpretation were all successfully performed within our quality system framework.

Following meticulous interpretation of pseudosections and image2D® true-depth sections, a total of twenty-seven anomalous chargeability trends were identified and prioritized accordingly. They are fully described in the Appendix found at the end of this report and have been posted on both the pseudosections and the Interpretation Map (10.0). Follow-up recommendations include extensive prospecting over fourteen subcropping to outcropping anomalies. Pending results, drilling may be carried out on two of the higher priority targets.

Marathon: 20 km to the southeast.

From Wawa, drive west onto Highway 17 for approximately 175 km, to the town of Marathon. From there, all-season access to the grid area is by helicopter.

The grid is located in a relatively steep topographic area with cliffs reaching about 100 m above local water level. Numerous bedrock outcrops are exposed throughout the survey area. A few small lakes I swamps are located throughout the grid and a creek cross the survey area from NW to SE.

No cultural features were observed throughout the entire grid.

The property is wholly owned at 100% by Benton Resources Corporation.

The survey grid was cut by R. Picard, subcontractor, prior to the geophysical campaign. The survey area is composed of two adjoining grids cut at slightly different orientations. The western section is composed of seventeen SW-NE (N048°) cross-lines extending from lines 96+50E to 114+00E and of one tie-line 105+00N. The eastern section consists of eleven SSW-NNE (N0200) cross-lines extending from 114+00E to 124+00E and of one tie-line 104+00N. Line spacing is generally 100 m (or 150 m as a result of flooded areas). All stations were picketed at 25 m interval.

The survey grid was thereafter accurately positioned using GPS points recorded at end of lines. The survey area covering the Sally Lake Grid is illustrated on the next page.

Geophysics' private control line. Every day during data acquisition: ./ Every morning, the operators had to successfully test for any

The spectral analysis of the measured IP decay curve results in a quantitative evaluation of the IP time constant of the various sources. This parameter is the fingerprint of the mineral causing the IP response whereas chargeability is indicative of the amount of this polarizable mineral; both are complementary.

So spectral analysis may lead to mineral discrimination based upon the textural characteristics of the source (graphite, sulphides, oxides, clay minerals). Inversion of the IP decay curves was done using the Australian AGR robust core algorithm. A map of the time constant at a depth of 75 m is presented in addition to the resistivity and chargeability maps.

Apparent reSistivity and chargeability pseudosections were inverted using our proprietary image20® package. The process is fully automated as there is no need to guess a starting model or to filter the pseudosection to generate one. The ground is divided in cells of a/4 side and a back-projection of the raw data is performed.

The result is a smooth earth model showing all conductive, resistive and polarizable sources. The resulting true-depth sections integrate all possible solutions, highlighting the most probable ones.

A synthetic example showing the ability of image20® to resolve sources and to facilitate the location of DDH is presented on the page 11.

Imaging cannot create information that is not in the raw data set (pseudosections), i.e., the limitations of the technique and array that was used will still prevail. With pole-dipole, for instance, resolution is asymmetrical and vertical sources may show a false dip. However, noise is efficiently rejected, near-surface effects are easily identified and complex responses, such as two adjoining sources, a wide body or a dipping geological contact, are well resolved.

This imaging process will not recover intrinsic resistivities unless the source is very wide. However, as opposed to pseudosections, geological data from drill-holes may be superimposed on image20® true-depth sections.

6. RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

o TOTAL FIELD MAGNETIC MAP

The Sally Lake Grid is characterized by numerous short magnetic lineaments of high intensity. Their amplitudes reach values of - 15 000 nT over a background of about 56 800 nT. A highly contrasting magnetic lineament of much lower amplitude (- 15 000 nT below background) was outlined and corresponds to strongly polarizable & conductive features (SLG-01 & SLG-02) also associated with strong increases of time constant values.

The general WNW-ESE orientation of all magnetic trends well agrees with the delineated IP trends orientation. These magnetic lineaments as defined from the total field profiles were outlined in green on the Interpretation Map (10.0) and represent the surface projection of their magnetic sources.

Overall, the magnetic profiles reveal very short associated wavelengths which are indicative of shallow depths to sources. Likewise, the chargeability I resistivity survey suggests very little overburden with subcropping to outcropping anomalous features. As a result, a detailed geological investigation (prospecting I trenching) should initially be carried out over magnetic anomalies associated with IP targets of interest.

o RESISTIVITY MAP

The Sally Lake Grid survey offers a very distinct resistiVity contrast around line 104+50E with resistive amplitudes ranging from 10 000 Om up to 32 000 Om just west of this contact. Much lower resistive (conductive) values, generally less than 1500 Om, cover the area east of line 104+50E. On the image2D ® resistivity map plotted at a depth of 75 m, the most conductive zones were outlined using pink contoured / shaded areas whereas the blue-shaded areas define zones of higher resistivity values.

The conductive zone encompasses a much higher density of interpreted IP anomalies (SLG-01 to SLG-20) and is further associated with strong increases of time constant values. On the other hand, fewer IP anomalies (SLG-21 to SLG-27) were interpreted over the resistive zone. These were generally qualified as lower-priority targets.

An extensive follow-up exploration program consisting of initial prospecting and possible drilling has been recommended over the most interesting polarizable anomalies.

o TIME CONSTANT MAP

The Cole-Cole time constant map plotted at a depth of 75 m has revealed several higher values areas located in the conductive zone. These generally correspond to interpreted IP anomalies (SLG-01, SLG-02, SLG-05, SLG-12, SLG-16 & SLG-20). This parameter helps with mineral discrimination and higher values are usually indicative of the presence of clay altered minerals (OH-). Most of the above-mentioned IP anomalies thus result as higher potential targets for gold mineralization.

Following interpretation of pseudosections, image20® true-depth sections and chargeability map plotted at a depth of 75 m, a total of twenty-seven polarizable anomalous trends were compiled on the Sally Lake Grid Project. Most of these anomalies may be categorized into three groups showing similar characteristics: 1) polarizable, conductive, non-magnetic and directly associated with an increase of time constant values (SLG·01 & SLG·02), 2) polarizable, conductive and magnetic (SLG·03, SLG·04, SLG·05, SLG·07, SLG·10, SLG·11, SLG·15 & SLG·20) and lastly, 3) polarizable within a resistive environment (SLG·21 to SLG·27). As SLG·01 & SLG·02's signatures show the same type of response often associated with graphitic units, these anomalous trends were downgraded to second-priority targets. Their source origin should nevertheless be thoroughly investigated by initial prospecting and possible drilling in order to rule out such eventuality.

Over the entire grid, the strongest IP amplitudes were found in the conductive environment of the central-eastern portion of the survey area. The general orientation of these IP structures is WNW­ESE. These anomalies have been correlated from line-to-line according to their strength, strike-trend, magnetic association, Cole-Cole time constant and other similar characteristics. They have been labeled and reported on the Geophysical Interpretation Map (10.0). Refer to Appendix found at the end of this report for a more detailed description of all depicted anomalies. As part of a follow­up program, extensive initial prospecting was recommended over a total of fourteen subcropping anomalies and drilling could possibly be carried out over two anomalous trends.

All-priority DDH targets are illustrated hereafter on their respective chargeability true depth sections. (Initial prospecting is recommended over all DDH targets prior drilling)
