Grand Opening of Leeden (Thailand) Co. LtdLeeden marks a new milestone in Chonburi, Thailand. With the Grand Opening of a new 3-storey office, sales showroom and warehousing facilities on 19 June 2009, Leeden aims to leverage on the trend of a fast growing presence of oil & gas investments in the region.

The set up of facilities near our customers who are mostly located in Chonburi is important for us. As a total welding solutions provider, we can thus ensure timely response with the provision of technical services. This differentiates us from a mere distributor. We will continue to build our presence and leverage on the demand for Welding, Gas & Safety solutions from oil & gas producers in the region.

Mr. Steven Tham, Executive Chairman & CEO, Leeden Limited

In Malaysia, Dynamic AD Industries Sdn Bhd Rebrands to Leeden Welding Sdn Bhd Harnessing the positive synergies of the Leeden brand, a dinner was held on 13 June 2009 at the Sunway Resort, Malaysia to mark the rebranding of Dynamic AD Industries Sdn Bhd to Leeden Welding Sdn Bhd.

Various principals from ITW Group, Mathey Dearman, Fronius and CRC-Evans, invited guests and staff attended the night of fun and merry-making. It was a joyous moment when our staff and distinguished guests ushered in Leeden Welding Sdn Bhd to a brand new start and greater success in the future.

IIW 2009 Singapore

Indonesia has been an oil producer for many years, joining OPEC in 1962. According to OGI 09, the elimination of tariffs on importing equipment used in the areas of Oil & Gas production in Indonesia as well as the Indonesian Government’s lending aid to improve the technology available will greatly stimulate the demand for Oil & Gas products.

Riding on this industry trend, Leeden has jumped on the bandwagon to promote our suite of products & services to the marine offshore, oil & gas industries through our participation in the recent OGI 09. The brightly-lit booth set in vibrant Leeden colors, the extensive suite of product showcases, and sound technical advice from our staff marked our presence at the event. OGI 09 is the third oil & gas show which Leeden has participated in this year, as part of our efforts to gain market share across the region.

Leeden was one of the main sponsors for the 62nd Annual Assembly and International Conference of the International Institute of Welding (IIW 09), held for the first time in Singapore from 12 - 17 July 2009 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. With over 600 delegates, mainly welding experts and practicing professionals from all around the world, there were countless opportunities for knowledge-sharing. As part of the IIW 09 Organizing Committee, Leeden was proud to be involved in the successful hosting of this annual international event. Our hospitality was evident throughout the entire assembly and the highly commended social events - where delegates indulge in fine food and wine.

IIW 09 was a great success, with accolades pouring in from many of the seasoned delegates.

Oil & Gas Asia 2009 Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaOGA 09 was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from 10-12 June 2009. The attendees were mainly trade visitors from the oil & gas, marine offshore and rig fabrication industries. At this biennial exhibition, our double-decker booth and exciting showcase of internationally renowned Welding and Safety brands were evident crowd-pullers.

Leeden showcased quality products from OTC, CRC-Evans, Hobart, Mckay, FSH Welding Group, Bortech, Mathey Dearman, Fronius, Wachs, Blue Metals, Uvex, DBI Sala and Red Wing Shoes at OGA 09. Brand principals were also present to attend to customers’ enquiries with their technical expertise. Garnering positive feedback at OGA 09, we strive to make our upcoming shows a greater success.

CaseStudy:

FSH Training in FranceIn September 2009, staff from Leeden’s Welding Division, American Dynamics (ADPL) were invited to a product training session conducted by FSH Welding Group (FSH) in Belfort and Besancon, France. This training session provided an opportunity for the impartation of product knowledge and expertise to our staff on the range of welding consumables offered by FSH.

The visits to the manufacturing facilities of Reboud-Roche and Selectarc Industries gave our staff an interesting and educational hands-on experience. Our counterparts from FSH conducted product trainings on topics including:

• Flux Cored Welding Consumables (Megafil) Training Conducted by Dr. Erturul Engindeniz, Technical Director & Mr. Martin Schnirch, Sales Director

• Brazing Alloys Training Conducted by Ms. Paola, Marketing Manager & Mr. Philippe Schmitt, Director It was a rare opportunity for us to be able to

witness and get some hands-on experience in the manual brazing and induction brazing process

Leslie Yap, Product Manager, ADPL

The technical knowledge and experience gained from this session equipped our staff with an edge in providing customers with better recommendations and technical advice for their projects. It also helped to forge a stronger bond between the staff from both companies and foster a better working relationship between Leeden & FSH – Partners in Welding Excellence.

Fumes Extraction Systems for Automotive Industry by NedermanOur client - BMW has a 6-storey regional sales and service centre that houses an exquisitely designed showroom, a paint & body workshop, an air-conditioned training room as well as a designer vehicle handover room where owners collect their BMW in comfort and style. They needed a robust and maintenance-free system that extracts all welding and exhaust fumes, yet maintaining a high aesthetic value.

Leeden’s Safety Team recommended Nederman solutions which are customized to the respective areas without interfering with the centre’s daily operations and sales activities.

Paint & Body workshopTo extract welding fumes emitted in the workshop, 2 stretches of Alu 150 and trolleys with original arms, powered by 2 FilterMax C25 units were installed.

Training roomTo extract exhaust fumes for a bay big enough for 2 vehicles, the 920 exhaust rail housing 1 trolley with twin extractor nozzles were recommended.

Vehicle handover roomsA Vehicle Exhaust Fume Extraction System was installed in each of the 6 air-conditioned rooms. Quick changeover couplings are supplied to fit exhaust nozzles according to different exhaust pipe configurations. These couplings, nozzles and hoses can be hidden away in a wall cabinet when not in use.

The Nederman solutions provided excellent performance and functionality while paying due attention to the aesthetical value of the centre as requested. BMW was very pleased with Leeden’s recommended products and our professional undertaking of this ground-breaking project in South-East Asia.

Leeden Secures Agency Rights to Mirage and HyperthermCulminating from the development of our presence in the region and to cater to our customers’ evolving operational and business needs, Leeden is proud to secure new agency rights to market specialized welding equipment under the brands Mirage & Hypertherm.
