RULE OF 72

Use the Rule of 72 to calculate how long it will take your money to double at a given interest rate if you reinvest the earnings

72 Percentage rate of return = Number of years needed to double your money

Examples: At 8% interest, it would take 9 years for the

money to double (72 8 = 9) At 10% interest, it would take 7.2 years for the

money to double (72 10 = 7.2)
