Turn the bizhub control panel into a Web browser.

Konica Minolta’s i-Option expands the bizhub’ s range of functions to deliver a higher level

of convenience and greater ease of use. A variety of functions have been developed from

various perspectives to expand document use, strengthen data security and enhance usability.

They can easily be installed individually to meet your output needs.

Web Browser (LK-101 v3)

Access content from the Internet and intra-company networks directly from the bizhub touch panel display to browse the Web and print files. And connect to cloud s e r v i c e s s u c h a s Google AppsT M and Eve rno te ® d i rec t l y from the touch panel w i t h t h e o p t i o n a l bizhub Connector.

Convert scanned documents into OOXML files

Scan paper documents and convert them to Microsoft Office OpenXML formats (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx*). Text sections can also be OCR processed and converted into text data f i l es to fu r ther inc rease the range o f document applications.* Conversion to .pptx files without OCR processing can be used as standard.

OCR (Optical Character Reader): A character reader that optically scans printed text to identify characters based on their shape and automatically converts them into character data.

E-mail RX Print

Attachments of e-mails sent from PCs, smartphones and tab le t dev ices can be pr in ted f rom the b izhub*. Attachments can also be saved in the bizhub Box.* Printable files: PDF, Compact PDF, JPEG, TIFF, XPS, Compact XPS, Office OpenXML (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx), PPML (.zip) (max. 20 files)* Documents using long paper cannot be printed even in the above file formats.* S/MIME encrypted e-mails are not supported. E-mail messages that have been split into parts cannot be restored.* The bizhub on the receiving end must have an e-mail address.

Convert documents saved in the bizhub Box into compact PDF files

Data saved in the bizhub Box from a printer driver can be converted into compact PDF files for attaching to e-mails or saving to a PC from the bizhub Box. Compact PDF substantially compresses the size of PDF files for smoother e-mail transmission.

Convert documents into high-quality compact PDF files

The bizhub can convert standard compact PDF files into h igh -qua l i t y compact PDF f i l es by improv ing the reproduction quality of coloured text and lines.

Convert to encrypted PDF files (digital ID)

PDF files sent by e-mail can be encrypted with the user’ s digital certificate. Encrypted PDF files can only be decoded using the user's secret key to prevent information leaks to third parties.

Voice Guidance (LK-104 v3)

Voice Guidance provides easy step-by-step assistance for control panel operations. Instructions are easy to follow even when the display is difficult to see. The volume and playback speed can also be adjusted for your convenience. And add the optional keypad (KP-101) to access Voice Guidance with a touch of a button.* This function can be used for enlarged display screens (copy, fax/scan functions), guidance screens and universal setting screens.

PDF files for long-term storage

PDF files that comply with the PDF/A international standard (ISO19005) can be created for long-term storage. Both PDF/A-1a and PDF/A-1b standard levels are supported.

Linearised PDF

Multi-page PDF files can be linearised so that the first page is quickly loaded in the Web browser, reducing the wait for loading the entire file.* Some web browsers may only display the file once all the pages have been loaded.

Encrypted PDF with a digital certificate

To prevent information leaks to third parties, e-mailed PDF files can be encrypted with the user’ s digital certificate (public key), so they can only be decoded using the user’ s secret key.

Searchable PDF (LK-105 v3)

Text information in scanned documents can be converted into text data via OCR, and that text data can be overlaid onto each page when the PDF file is generated. This lets you to search keywords in the text and use the text data for secondary applications such as copying and pasting onto digitised paper documents.* Text recognition may not be possible in the following cases

If white characters are used in the documentIf the language selected does not match the language of the text in the document.If the document direction and the text direction do not match when the pageorientation is not automatically adjusted.Differences in text recognition may occur depending on factors such as thedocument condition and font type and size.

ThinPrint’s data printing flow

Add more built-in fonts to the bizhub.

Barcode font (LK-106)This funct ion a l lows barcodes – indispensib le for the manufacturing and logistics induxtries – to be printed from the bizhub based on data sent from the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Data can be printed directly without having to access a printer driver.

Unicode font (LK-107)This function contains a large number of Unicode fonts to support a wide range of languages including Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean and Japanese. They can be printed directly without having to access a printer driver.

OCR font (LK-108)OCR font is a standardised font that allows text to be appropriately recognised by devices using OCR (Optical Character Recognition).* OCR-B (PS) fonts can be used as standard.

The lighter the data and network load, the faster the printing.

ThinPrint function (LK-111)ThinPrint virtual desktop environment speeds up the printing of extra-large data files by compressing the print data to reduce network load.* The bizhub will operate as a ThinPrint Client (.print Client). ThinPrint system must be operating on the network used.* ThinPrint is a printing solution software provided by Cortado AG of Germany.

The functions for tasks such as pasting or retrieving data such as text from the clipboard cannot be used. Context menus cannot be used. The Flash printing function cannot be used.
