Superior Performance

The new SharpEye™ 40/40I offered by Dräger combines exceptional reliability with tough design and easyhandling. Its multi-spectrum setup is based on three IR bands (IR3) and can quickly detect and report fueland gas fires at considerably long distances. This combined with its high degree of operational flexibility andcompatibility with other systems and interfaces makes it ideal for a large number of applications.

Immunity To False Alarms

With the 40/40I, you can be sure that common sources of unwanted alarms such as hotworks, hot CO2

emissions and flares reflections are no longer a problem. Plus, its sensitivity selection ensures that there is nozone crossover detection.

Tough & Durable

As a weather resistant detector currently on the market, the 40/40I is built to effortlessly function under variousconditions. Such new features like its heated window effectively eliminate icing and condensation problems. Inaddition to many other innovative features, the device comes with DNV and MED shipping approval.

The 40/40I is your guarantee that flame detection is quick and accurate. With a MTBF minimum of150,000 hours and the ability to detect a 0.1 m2 gasoline pan fire at 65 m in less than 5 seconds, you can besure that the safety of your operations and your workers is in the best of hands.

Reliability

Functional safety is a concept applicable across all industry sectors. It is fundamental to the enabling ofcomplex technology used for safety-related systems. It provides the assurance that the safety-related systemswill offer the necessary risk reduction required to achieve safety for the equipment. The SharpEye™ 40/40flame detector series is highly reliable and complies with the IEC 61508 Safety Integrity Requirements of SIL2.

Automatic and manual optics checks (BIT)

Automatic checks of the detector electronics and optics increase reliability. Additionally the test can betriggered manually at any time.

Easily visible status LED

A tri-colored LED which is visible at the front of the detector provides a simple status indication to personnel inclose proximity to the detector. Green indicates normal operation; yellow indicates a fault and red indicates thepresence of a fire.

Simple installation and commissioning

Installation is simple! The detector is easily installed with a stainless steel tilt mount; enables the detector to berotated up to 60° in all directions to position the detector in relation to the potential fire source.

Flame Simulator 40/40 - IR3

The SharpEye™ IR3 Flame Simulator 40/40 - IR3 is designedspecifically for use with SharpEye™ flame detectors. The Fire Simulatoremits IR radiation in a unique sequential pattern corresponding to andrecognizable by the detector as fire. This allows the detectors to betested under simulated fire conditions without the associated risks ofan open flame. There is an optional Beam collimator IR3, speciallydesigned for extended test range.
