Norway•We will not at the time being establish a digital music service at the public libraries ... The reason is that we are not sure whether this will function as long as the music is easily and cheaply available through Spotify and similar services. We are discussing though how we may give access to music from the archives that we are responsible for in cooperation among others with the Norwegian Broadcasting Company.

Start to ... TALKStart to ... THINK
DO NOT cross the streetuntil you have beenTHINKING and TALKING ...
Start thinking and talking 46
About your audience ...•who are you doing it for?•what can you do for them?•where are they? •how can you reach them?(ASK THEM)
Start thinking and talking 47
About your USP ...(unique selling proposition)•what is your strength?•what makes you stand out from the rest?
Start thinking and talking 48
About the numbers ...•how many people should you reach? •how many streams should you play?•what can it cost per user?
Start thinking and talking 49
About the application ...•is it well-designed?•is it easy to use?•what are the main usability problems? •can they be solved in the near future?
usability is !extremely! important in any 'content' domain (like music)
Start thinking and talking 50
• I would start a service if ...
1.it has a potential to reach a significant amount of users
2.it is supported by a marketing and market development campaign
3.it keeps close to the identity of the library
4.it has a unique selling proposition
5.it can be integrated in the services of the local library
Start thinking and talking 51
6. it costs a reasonable price
7. as many local libraries as possible would subscribe to it as quickly as possible
8. it can offer a very userfriendly interface
9. it can evolve and keep up with new technologies and insights
