A word about the sellers.

Ian & Mandy Durrant are the owners of ‘Sentimental Journey’ and also ‘The Gunner’. Ian began his interest in Military history with an army torch purchased for him by his parents in a‘cheap shop’ in Forest Hill, London when he was about 7 years old. Serious collecting began slowlyon beginning work in 1977 (Ian was then 17), when there was sufficient cash to feed the hobby.Items purchased ranged from WW2 Military vehicles through to uniform, manuals, maps and muchelse.Mandy began collecting women’s uniforms of all periods about 18 years ago, and boughtprodigiously.

With the passing of time they has decided it is time to reduce the size of the collection, which withhis wife Mandy’s collection of women’s uniform, fills a fair sized room to the extent that it is almostimpossible to move in it, the intention being to get the collection on view in displays and dioramas. The pictures below illustrate a small part of the space problem. Some people think they have a bigcollection with about 50 items, well we are talking well over a thousand individual pieces.

For this reason many items have to be sold, it has been quite a heartbreaking business to decidewhat has to go for space, upkeep or practical reasons, and the task of sorting and thinning is notyet finished, they both know we still need to sell more to make space, but it is a difficult task

Many of the items here are fairly commonplace still today, others are not and it is unlikely that theywill appear frequently on the open market in the future. Everything is guaranteed genuine unlessstated otherwise.

To purchase any of these items please call direct on 01945 440289 Monday to Friday, best time isusually PM, but if they are not in then please leave a message and they WILL call you back.Alternatively you can call Ian’s mobile on 07920 530706.
