Gartner:6,000 organizations from public to private sectors, rely on IBM WebSphere Portal software for everything from employee communications to web 2.0 mashups to saving lives

Although SAP supports some Portal-related standards, it has not yet committed to supporting JSR 286 (Portlet 2.0).

MOSS 2007 does not offer full support for enterprise mashups or social networking.

WebSphere Portal supports mashup creation (via Lotus IBM Mashup Center) and leverages other complementary offerings, including Lotus Connections (for social networking), to inject Web 2.0 technologies into the enterprise.

Most SAP deployments provide access to SAP applications only, and lack any collaboration elements. SAP also lags behind several competitors in delivering enterprise mashup functionality.
