What is the NomCom?
The NomCom is a committee designed to function independently from the ICANN Board, Supporting Organizations, and Advisory Committees. NomCom members act only on behalf of the interests of the global Internet community and within the scope of the ICANN mission and responsibilities assigned to it by the ICANN Bylaws.
Every year the NomCom selects outstanding individuals for:
• ICANN’s Board of Directors • GNSO Council• ccNSO Council • ALAC

What is the process?
The 2013 NomCom is looking to recruit people to apply for Nine(9) positions in the ICANN Ecosystem.
We encourage all good candidates to apply.
ICANN's Board of Directors
As a group, exercises the powers of ICANN, controls its property and conducts or directs its business and affairs. Three Positions
ccNSO The Country-Code Names Supporting Organization
The purpose of the ccNSO is to engage
and provide leadership in activities relevant to country-code top-level
domains (ccTLDs)
One Position
GNSO - Generic Names Supporting Organization
The GNSO is the body of seven constituencies:• Registry Stakeholder Group• Registrar Stakeholder Group• Commercial and Business
Users• Intellectual Property Interests• Internet Service and
Connection Providers• Non-Commercial Users• Not-for-Profit Operational
Concerns ConstituencyTwo Positions
ALAC is responsible for providing policy advice on the activities of the ICANN, as they relate to the interests of individual Internet users (the "At-Large" community).
