9:30 - 10:15 am: All the Dirt on CBD Oil Legalities; Katie Thompson, Bluebird BotanicalsKatie spent years in Chicago as a marketing expert on foodservice products at Gordon Hanrahanbefore finding her calling on the new legal product derived from the hemp plant. A few years ago,the 2014 Farm Bill was signed into law by former President Obama. This re-established the legalcultivation and marketing of hemp on US soil through state agricultural departments. Now, the2018 Farm Bill has officially removed hemp and hemp-derived CBD from the Controlled SubstancesAct, making it fully federally legal for the first time in over 40 years. Katie was the expert behindthe Carl’s Jr. launch of the Rocky Mountain High Burger on Earth Day this year with a CBD Sauce.
