being trustworthiness. When you recall your graduation night, its

okay if you think back, I cant remember who ourspeaker was. Trust me, my feelings wont be hurt.

But I hope you say youcan remember the shortmessage of wisdom he

offered, Lolli said.Amanda Koslow hadthe seniors smiling dur-ing her address,Remember Whenwhich offered sweetmemories of the past.Despite the fact thatmost of the seniors wereborn in 1992 or 1993,Koslow said they stillconsider themselves90s kids. She recalledhow time has changed, like when the K&W wasstill called the K&W,when Pluto was actuallythought to be a planet,to remembering when Jonathan Wright wasstill a school.

Remember backbefore Facebook and even before Myspace whenwe used to blog on Xanga? Or when everyonewould ask for your IM screen name? she said.

She recalled junior high dances, wondering sim-ply, Why? The Swine Flu epidemic and trips toCarillon Park, Camp Kern and Washington DCwere also highlighted.

They always said it would go by too fast and wealways disagreed, but were they right? No matterhow fast or how slow the time went, were herenow, she said.

Salutatorian Ben McCray spoke on what helearned in high school was more than just factsand equations, but life lessons. The true test nowbeing the rest of his life. His 10 life lessons includ-ed not procrastinating, be yourself, say thank you, take risks, laugh daily, be nice, and treat each daylike its your last.

Imagine all the things youd miss out on yourlife if you refused to take a risk, always took theeasy way out or were influenced by others nega-tivity, McCray said. No matter what directionyour life takes when you leave here today, thesepoints and others that you have discovered, willplay an important role whether you realize it ornot.

This year, the graduates earned a total of $3,073,000 in combined scholarship awards.

Matthew Gilbert was the last of the speakers, with Seniors Today, Alumni Tomorrow.

He summed up their education simply: Weveaccomplished many great things and together wecan say, not bad. Not bad at all.

Photos by Terry Baver Senior smiles as she holds her carnation anddiploma.

T he new seasonof Ice RoadTruckers startedlast Sunday night andLucy and I watched thetwo-hour season open-er with snacks and softdrinks just like whenwe watch the big gamesin the fall.

We love Ice RoadTruckers , the cast isreal, no actors. You geta flavor of humanity, lifes ups and downs, the good the bad, thecute (Lisa) and the ugly(Hugh).

Its hard to imagine acareer of driving in dif-ficult conditionsalmost every day in subzero temperatures. Acouple of the guys havemore than 30 yearstransporting equip-ment, fuel, food andmore to areas almostunreachable duringthe winter season.

Well wouldnt youknow it a couple of cre-ative big shots havetaken the idea andcome up with a similarshow for a differentaudience capitalizingon the ice road theme.Lets check it out andremember you readabout it first right hereat Merge Wright.

Ice Road Mini Vans Its a musical featuringmoms driving minivans full of Glee stu-dents to arctic outpostsin northern Canada.Yes, small towns likeMoose Glow, BearClaw, Ice Ridge Canyonand Frozen Stiff willget to experienceBroadway musicals forthe first time.

Be with the momsand Glee kids when

they have to chain uptheir mini vans toclimb Snarky Bonesmountain pass duringan evening snow storm.Hear them sing theSnarky Bones song in afantastic falsetto asthey climb to the peak.Dangerous curves, icecovered tundra, tem-peratures at 40 belowdoesnt mean a thing tothe Glee kids as theysing their way north.

Other songs writtenfor the trip includeIm Freezing MyVibrato Off Just ForYou. Ice, Ice Baby,(hey, thats not original)and my favoritebesides the SnarkyBones song is Hot,Hot, Hot For Teacher(a Buster Poindexter,Van Halen mix).

Its drama, love, com-edy and lots of snowand icicles all snugglyknit in song. Ive alsoheard that Lady Gagahas signed on to playthe female lead inPhantom of the Operawhen it opens with theGlee kids in FrozenStiff later this year.
