PROJECT INTRODUCTION
For this final assignment, we were assigned to search for a
specific empty land outside the boundaries of Taylor’s University
to initiate a small construction project as a group of 2 along with an
individual project proposal.
The size of the land chosen should be between 50m x 50m
(2500m2) - 50m x 70m (3500m2) which is mentioned in the project
brief. Furthermore, we are also required to serve one of the
proposal mentioned, which includes : Recreation, Commercial,
Industrial, Agricultural, Tourism, and Residential area.
The objective of this project is to enable students to develop an
understanding of the building team, its organization, duties and
inter-relations. Besides that, it is to develop an awareness of their
professional responsibilities and to appreciate their profession in
the construction industry.
The learning outcomes of this project is that students will be
able to explain the need to coordinate and develop an
understanding of coherent working relations among various
industry players and to improve the communication channels.
Secondly, students will have the ability to document their
observations and understanding from interview session and
research resources as well as to communicate their findings in a
systematic and convincing presentation and reports. Lastly,
students will have the ability to justify the feasibility of a
development and improve the proposal to serve the purpose of the
development.
BACKGROUND OFTHE SITE
The piece of land we selected is an undeveloped piece of barren
land, thus we decided to select this particular land. The land is
located at Persiaran Damai Utama 2, Puchong, Selangor. Besides
that, the total size of the land is 8114m2, therefore we chose to
develop 3500m2 of the land.
The chosen land is faced to the North, and there are a few
commercial blocks located right in the opposite of the land.
Furthermore, there is a T-junction beside the land that is linked to
the Kinrara Residence.

ADVANTAGESOur site is easily accessible from many various roads leading to
it. It is a middle upper class residential area with two storey terrace
houses on the side and shop lots on the front, just across the street.
The shop lots already generates existing traffic to the area, but
there is no traffic jam in the area. Thus, this specific land is perfect
to be in the area of our potential clients. Besides that, the area has
restaurants, mini marts, and other various types of shops with a
bountiful parking space.
Furthermore, the land is also barren. There are no obstructions of
any sort from the surrounding area of the land, this gives us a wide
expanse of open space, providing us with a great space of
development. The land has good ventilation due to the large open
space. Other than that, the land is also readily flattened which
makes it easier to be developed because it helps saves time and
costs. The land is also equipped with a proper drainage system.
DISADVANTAGESDespite the advantages of the site, nothing comes completely
perfect. There are no existing shades, trees, and any sort of
covering in the site. Due to the matter, it is rather hot and the air
quality of the site is rather bad.
