I Create in News Press Coverage in The GOAN Everyday Newspaper dated 19 th February about Alvina Almeida who won the first Prize in the I Create’s NBPC 2018 conducted at Jaipur. Excerpts from the article, Alvina’s business plan of ‘providing organic pot plant gifting to customers’ in Goa was well appreciated by a panel of international judges and the audience during the I Create India’s National Business Plan Competition (NBPC). She is the first Goan Student to win this prestigious award which included a cash prize of Rs 50,000, proving her mettle by facing tough competition from participants among I Create’s twelve centres across India. “The objective of this competition is to promote a culture of entrepreneurship among the Indian youth while considering entrepreneurship as a viable career option instead of looking for a job in the industry or government,” says R S Kamat, director general, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). I Create India partnering with the Department of Youth Empowerment & Sports, Govt. of

Karnataka provided Skills and Entrepreneurship Training for the youth in the age group of 18-35

years . The workshops were conducted at

1. Dr. G Shankar Sarkari Mahila First Grade College, Udupi from 9th to 12th

February for 11 participants. The workshop was facilitated by Connie and

Shobha

2. Govt. First Grade College Thyamagundulu, Nelamangala from 9th to 27th

February for 36 partcipants, The workshop was facilitated by Chitra, Pankaja and

Murthy.

3. Govt. First Grade College, Devanahalli, Bangalore Rural from 19th to 24th

February for 40 participants The workshop was facilitated by Chitra, Connie

,Shobha and Prakash

4. Youth’s Hostel,Tumkur from 19th to 24th February for 19 participants. The

workshop was facilitated by Chitra, Murthy and Ananthkumar.

5. New Horizon Rural Development Trust, Harohalli, Kanakapura,

Ramanagara Dt. For 30 Participants. The workshop was facilitated by Chitra,

Prakash and C.Angadi.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Program ( EAP)

ICVK conducted an awareness program at SJP for 73 students from the stream - Welding & Sheet Metal department,. The session was conducted by Shobha on 19th February.

Participants during the EAP Conducted at Webb Memorial Girl’s Hostel. I Create Snehdeep conducted an awareness program at Webb Memorial Girl’s Hostel for 32 students on 26th February. The session was conducted by Joseph.

Aspiring Entrepreneurs Workshop (AEW)

Participants during the AEW conducted at Jawahar Nagar

I Create Rajasthan conducted a workshop for 15 participants from the slums of Jawahar Nagar and Jhalanga Doongri from 26th to 28th February. The workshop was facilitated by Hema Chawla. Slum areas of Jawhar Nagar and Jhalana Doongri is the place from where a lot of people in Jaipur get their domestic help or labourers for any kind of work. These Participants are those women and men who would like start their business on a small scale and have been brought together to attend the workshop with the help of one of I Create’s Master Facilitator’s domestic help.

The participants found the training useful as other NGO’s promise to give them only money but don’t provide any knowledge. “Sessions on Cash Book, Market Research and SA RI GA MA PA DA NI were very useful and interesting” – AEW participant
