Changing Attribute Positions
• Click on an attribute• Hold and drag up or down• This can help with comparing certain attributes side by side. • Usually helpful in compressed view.

INFOZOOM
Single Derived Attribute
• A single derived attribute allows you to form a definite value for a certain attribute.
• For instance, this function can help getting the average weight of all the objects in our database.
ICS 105 Research Team
INFOZOOM
Derived Attribute of 2 Attributes
• Deriving an attribute with 2 attributes allows us to get a derived value in relation to a certain attribute.
• For instance, the average weight for each hair color can be found. It is also important that you place these attributes side by side, such as weight on top and hair color on bottom and have both these selected.

Compressed View Details
• Most discoveries regarding direct correlation of attributes can be found in the Compressed View mode.
• This is done by sorting(functionality mentioned before) and comparing these attributes to other attributes.
ICS 105 Research Team
INFOZOOM
Example
• This is done by sorting Income and then seeing the relation of income with Spending.
• This shows that people with a higher income tend to spend more.

INFOZOOM
Sorting Two Attributes(Hierarchical Sorting)
• By sorting attributes we can see two attributes in relation to each other.
• This one shows “Gender” per “Income” and done by selecting Income first then Gender.
• From this we can see that the steeper slope in “Income” under “Male” indicates males having a generally higher income.
