FEATURES & ADVANCES
The ID66 is a 3-way full range loudspeaker designed for permanent installations. This low profile, high output, and weather resistant loudspeaker features two direct radiating 6.5” low frequency drivers, a 1.0” compression driver, and a passive crossover. The ID66 is ideally suited for under balcony installation, distributed systems, or other applications which require high output professional quality sound reproduction.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Mounting locations are distributed across 3 surfaces of the enclosure. Two Omni-mount™ compatible locations are available on the rear of the enclosure, while an additional 8 reinforced 1/4-20 UNC threaded locations are available for other mounting options. iDESIGN iDB™ Series U-bracket hardware is also available for single unit wall and ceiling mount installation.
MOUNTING & RIGGING
The enclosure is constructed of 13-ply void-free birch hardwood plywood and is coated with a weather and wear resistant ProCoat™ polyurea hybrid finish. All rigging components are weather protected with a heat cured epoxy powder coat finish. Components in the front of the enclosure are protected by a curved grill made from perforated steel that is coated with heat cured epoxy powder, and lined with acoustically transparent foam.
CONSTRUCTION
One channel of discrete amplification and signal processing is required for this module. The preferred loudspeaker controller for all iDESIGN products is the McCauley M Series family of digital processing units. The System Design Group can help in creating a complete amplification and signal processing solution.

APPLICATIONS
DIMENSIONAL ILLUSTRATIONS
ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONSThe three-way full range loudspeaker system shall incorporate two 1.25" (32 mm) voice coil, 6.5" (165 mm) diameter LF transducers and a 1" (25 mm) exit, 1.75" (35 mm) diaphragm compression driver HF transducer. The LF driver shall be mounted in an optimally vented enclosure tuned for maximum low frequency response. The high frequency transducer shall be mounted to a true constant directivity acoustic horn with a nominal horizontal coverage pattern of 90°. The vertical coverage pattern of the horn shall be 90° and shall also provide true constant directivity.
The systems frequency response shall vary no more than ±3 dB from 80 Hz to 18 kHz measured on axis. The low frequency transducers shall produce a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of 94 dB SPL at a distance of 1 meter with an electrical power input of 1 Watt, and shall be capable of producing a maximum peak output of 121 dB SPL on axis at 1 meter. The high frequency transducer shall produce an acoustic Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of 110 dB SPL on axis at 1 meter with an electrical power input of 1 Watt, and shall be capable of producing a peak output of 125 dB SPL on axis at 1 meter.
The low frequency transducers shall handle 200 Watts of amplifier power (per ref Standard AES2-1984-r2003) and shall have a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. The high frequency transducer shall handle 40 Watts of amplifier power (per AES ref Standard AES2-1984-r2003) and shall have a nominal impedance of 16 Ohms.
The loudspeaker enclosure shall have a maximum weight of 25 lbs. (11.4 kg) and shall measure 8.25" (209.6 mm) wide at front, 6.11" (155.2 mm) in width at rear, 22.0" (559 mm) in height, and 9.0"(229 mm) in depth. The enclosure sides shall taper at 7.5° from a maximum frontal width, narrowing to the rear. The structure of the enclosure shall be constructed of 13-ply void-free birch hardwood plywood and shall have a weather and wear resistant ProCoat(tm) polyurea hybrid finish.
Components in the front of the enclosure are to be protected by a curved grill made from perforated steel that is coated with heat cured epoxy powder, and lined with acoustically transparent foam.
The input connector shall be one, two-terminal 5.08mm Phoenix connector. A cable end connector shall be supplied that will accept two 12 AWG wires for each terminal.
A total of eight 1/4"-20 UNC threaded mounting/suspension points (three on top, three on bottom, and two on rear) shall be provided. Two third-party compatible mounting locations shall be provided on the rear of the enclosure.
The three-way full range loudspeaker shall be the McCauley Sound model iD66.
