WELCOME BACK! It’s been an exciting two weeks here at ICP

Donna! For the first day of school, teachers went above and beyond—they decorated

the halls, played music, switched up hallway lighting, distributed glow sticks, and even

showcased their choreographed aerobic skills (thanks, PE coaches!) to welcome students

that morning! Students are now settling in to their classes, getting to know their

wonderful, hardworking teachers, and making new friends. In fact, in an effort to build

school community across grade levels, students spent the first week spinning a giant four-

colored wheel during lunch! Although we kept students waiting

all week in anticipation to disclose what the wheel represented,

we saw students cheering each other on and showing school

spirit! At our first Friday Pep Rally last week, ICP Donna

staff revealed that these colors represented…

HOUSES! Each House has its own Titan back

story, spirit animal, characteristics, and chant so that students,

6th through 12th, can come together throughout the year! The healthy

House rivalry for “Most School Spirit” is already fierce! Students celebrated the end of

the first week of school by learning their House chant from staff (who shamelessly

performed these, & some in costume!) and competed for best performance. We can’t

MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SEPT. 1ST | MOVIE NIGHT The 7th Grade team will be hosting a movie night for all middle school students! See Ms. Tamez for more info!

7TH GRADE On 8/24, the 7th grade team held a Meet the Teacher Night for parents who didn’t get the chance to meet with their child’s homeroom teacher. If you missed this second opportunity, reach out to Ms. Tamez! We will be reaching out to parents more often for upcoming events & meetings on field lessons. Our goal is to meet with each parent four times this year!

¡BIENVENIDOS! ¡Ha sido una emocionante dos semanas aquí en ICP

Donna! ¡Para el primer dia de clases, los maestros(as) se pusieron muchísimo detalle y esfuerzo decorando los pasillos, tocando música, cambiando las luces, y hasta mostrando sus habilidades aeróbicas y coreográficas (¡gracias, entrenadores de educación física!) todo esto para darle la bienvenida a los estudiantes esa mañana! Los estudiantes ahora se están acoplando a sus clases, conociendo a sus maravillosos, trabajadores maestros, y haciendo nuevos amigos. En efecto, con el esfuerzo de construir una escuela comunitaria en todos los grados, los estudiantes se enfocaron la primera semana en una gigante rueda de cuatro

colores durante la hora de comida! Aunque hicimos a los estudiantes esperar toda la semana, ah respecto del secreto de que representaban la rueda, nosotros vimos a todos los estudiantes aclamandose unos a otros, y mostrando un gran espíritu de su escuela! En nuestro primer Pep Rally de los viernes la semana pasada, el personal de ICP Donna reveló que estos colores representaban…

¡CASAS! Cada Casa tiene su propia historia de Titán,

animal de espíritu, características y canto para que los estudiantes, de 6 a 12, puedan reunirse durante todo el año. La rivalidad de la Casa

saludable para "La mayoría del espíritu de la escuela" ya es feroz! Los estudiantes celebraron el final de la primera semana de la escuela aprendiendo su canto de la casa del personal (quién descaradamente los realizó, y algunos en el traje!) Y compitió para el mejor funcionamiento. ¡No podemos esperar todo lo que está reservado para las Casas este año! Tamez! Estaremos llegando a los padres más a menudo para los próximos eventos y reuniones sobre las lecciones de campo. ¡Nuestra meta es reunirse con cada padre cuatro veces este año!
