Choosing well-organized factories is a ‘must’ at Toppoint. The differences are big between the factories that produces powerbanks, something Jürgen experienced during his trip to China.

Jürgen visited 8 factories; from 25 to 300 employees. The differences between the factories are big, for example; Jurgen visited factories where they produce powerbanks as if they produce flash lighters from 25 cent. Messy factories, with appalling working conditions and where quality controls are unknown. Fortunately there is another way around; Toppoint has chosen 2 factories that can produce for the company. These factories have an extensive quality check. A 100% inspection at incoming material based on international quality standard. Assembled components have a 100% check during production for over-charge, over-discharge and over-load.

Also the stability of the voltage will be checked, this is important for the lifetime of the product. When the voltage is not steady, the lifetime of connected devices can be affected. An essential quality aspect are the batteries. All batteries that are used by Toppoint are new and 1 by 1 tested. This sounds normal but this is something that doesn’t happen often. Toppoint likes to build a network and long relationships with trustful suppliers. For Toppoint clear inspections are set where they work together with their office in Shanghai. In the Shanghai office people work in the following disciplines; purchasing, product development and quality control. The office is also helping Toppoint out with the CSR audits.

Toppoint found some good factories, who produce save products for a price that is conform market price. Audits go true the New Wave Group. Audits are regarding the BSCI code of conduct. Fabrics that don’t pass the audits can’t produce any products for Toppoint.

Guarantees can’t be given but I’m convinced that we, as Toppoint, do everything in our power to purchase powerbanks with a good quality for a good price and they are produced in the right way; according to Jürgen

Step 1Incoming material inspection based on international quality standards. Batteries which are used are first class new batteries, produced per order. The batteries are marked with a serial number so the production can be traced. The PCB is produced in-house and the quality can be guaranteed 100%. Before assembly, 10% of the batteries are tested on capacity and power.

Step 2100% QC on the PCB with the assembled components. Welding is checked 1 by 1 and function tests are done. Components with a defect can cause inconsistence power input and output which can damage your mobile device. 100% impedance test: This is crucial because an unsafe battery can explode or catch fire.

Step 3The battery will be assembled to the PCB and will be checked 100% on safety and performance.

Step 4The final item will be assembled.

Step 5The final item will be checked on the following points: capacity, short circuit protection, input & output and voltage stability. Also the charge and discharge capacity will be checked as well as the overcharge and over-discharge protection.

Step 6In the next quality control step the function test will be done. The item will be packed together with the charging cables and finally checked based on international quality standards.

Product safety is an important topic within Toppoint. During our factory selection we noticed that a lot of

powerbank factories produce unsafe powerbanks. Using safe components, especially for powerbanks, and a

thorough quality inspection before, during and after production is essential. Unsafe powerbanks are

dangerous and can explode, spontaneously catch fire, don’t work or can damage your mobile device.

Together with our factories we have set up production procedures as below in which we mention which

QC steps will be made. The factory is BSCI certified.
