Resource Three

A set of 3 A4 brochures to explain the importance of good posture ineducation for children. These resources includes links to web sitesand research evidence that supports this information, which you maywant to follow up. The Icknield Way is probably the oldest road in Britain. Historically a series of routesacross the landscape, the Trail is part of an ancient trading route that followed the chalkridge across southern England, from the Norfolk Coast across East Anglia, to the plainsof Wiltshire and on to the coast in Dorset. Today you can make this journey by followingfour recreational routes – The Peddars Way National Trail, The Icknield Way Trail, theRidgeway National Trail and the Wessex Ridgeway.

WORKING WITH THE ICKNIELD WAY ASSOCIATION IN BEDFORDSHIRE, THE BRIEF WAS TO PRODUCE A SERIES OFLEAFLETS TO PROMOTE THIS PREHISTORIC WALKWAY FOR WALKERS AND RIDERS. THE PROJECT INVOLVED THEDESIGN OF THE ROUTE MAPS PHOTO EDITING AND MANIPULATION. FINISHED SIZE: A2.

Travel from the ‘Garden of England’ that is Kent and dis-cover the beauty of the Harrogate Flower Show to theexpansive gardens of Chatsworth House in Derbyshirethe snowdrops of Norfolk in early spring to the excite-ment that is the Chelsea Flower Show.

Norfolk Snowdrop SpectacularSpring, that most welcome celebrity of a season,might announce its arrival in a golden fanfare ofdaffodils. But its long-awaited appearance is firstsignalled by the rolling out in early February of na-ture's own white carpet, as snowdrops challengethe winter to retreat.Across the country, gardens are taken over with awonderful white display and we include visits totwo venues renowned for their gardens.

It has more than 240 varietiesof snowdrop scattered throughout the 100-acregarden, including Galanthus Lagodechianus.This va-riety, uncommon in Britain and thought to be arelic from the CrimeanWar, was one of 17 discov-ered by Head Gardener Richard Ayres on the siteof the garden'sVictorian rubbish heap.A watermillin the grounds is in full working order with flourto purchase if you wish.We then travel to ourhotel in time to relax before dinner.

Day 2 Sunday.After a full breakfast, we visit Blickling Hall. Built inthe early 17th century, Blickling Hall is one of Eng-land's great Jacobean houses surrounded by su-perb gardens.The hall unfortunately isn’t open inFebruary but you can explore the historic parkwith many beautiful woodland and lakeside walks.There are acres and acres of parkland to explore,aVictorian sunken garden, crescent lake, DoricTemple, orangery, formal wilderness garden withradial walks and Secret Garden. Should you prefer,you can spend free time at leisure in Norwichrather than visiting Blickling Hall Gardens. Follow-ing our visit, we will make our journey home arriv-ing back late afternoon.
