Preview Vocabulary: owner - a person who owns something like a house, a car, a book, a business.

Read: “The Ron Martinez Story”

Ron Martinez is a painter. He paints houses and buildings. Ron is the owner of his painting company, Martinez and Sons Painting. Ron has two sons, George and Luke. George is also a painter. He works full time with his father. Luke doesn’t like painting. He wants to be an architect. He studies architecture and works with his father and brother part time.

Luke’s schedule is very busy. He studies from 8:00 to 4:00, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, he works from 7:00 to 4:00, and on Saturdays he works from 7:00-2:00. Luke wants to change his work schedule. He wants to work on Fridays from 7:00 to 1:00 and on Saturdays from 7:00 to 12:00. Luke’s father, Ron, doesn’t want to change Luke’s work schedule. In fact, Ron wants Luke to work more hours.

She introduces him to the other bank tellers, Amy Sullivan and John Nelson. Amy works full-time, and John works part-time in the afternoons. John goes to school in the morning. Ms. Jones also introduces Bill to the payroll clerk. Her name is Francine Snow. Ms. Snow tells Bill that he will receive his paycheck twice a month. The first check will come on the first day of the month, and the second will come on the fifteenth of the month. Finally, Ms. Jones introduces Bill to the shift supervisor, Melda Marquez. Ms. Marquez is responsible for the schedules of the bank tellers. Bill should talk to Ms. Marquez if he has problems with his schedule. The bank manager is Lucian Filipi. Reading Vacation Policy
