Identity Theft UpdateEmpire has notified the 32BJ Health Fund that the personal information of almost 70,000 covered 32BJ members and dependents was breached as a result of the cyber attack on Anthem, Inc. (Empire’s parent company) in February.

Anthem has been writing directly to everyone affected by this attack with instructions on how to enroll for 2 years of free credit monitoring and identity theft repair services through AllClear ID.

If your personal information was breached, Anthem will be in touch with you by mail. The attack could result in scam emails and phone calls. These scamming efforts (known

as “phishing”) are trying to get personal information from you. Do not share any personal or credit card information with any callers or in response to any emails.

32BJ Health Fund website. We have designed this site to make it easier for you to use your health benefits to their fullest. New features give you quick access to all the facts about your health coverage and other benefits.

WHAT ARE MY BENEFITS? With the new “What are My Benefits?” tool, you just enter your work address (the building number and street) and whether you work full-time or part-time and you will get a summary page with the name of the health plan that covers you and a list of all of your other benefits (which can include pension, legal services, 401k savings and training). To get more information on any of your benefits, just click on the link in the list for that benefit.

FIND A 5 STAR CENTERAll 5 Star Centers provide care with $0 co-pays for office visits. Finding a 5 Star Center near your home or work address (depending on your preference) and the distance you are willing to travel is easy, too. From the homepage, www.32bjfunds.org/health, just click on “Find a 5 Star Center Today.” Enter what kind of doctor you need (such as adult primary care, pediatrician, OB/GYN), your address and the distance you’re willing to travel, and you’ll get a list of 5 Star Centers that meet your needs.

If you need to see a specialist, just check that box and select the type of specialist you need to see, and you’ll get a list of 5 Star Centers near you that provide that specialty.

Novedades sobre la DAPAEl programa de Acción diferida para los padres (DAPA) concede a determinados padres el derecho legal de permanecer en los EE. UU. Puede cumplir los requisitos si lleva residiendo de forma continuada en los EE. UU. desde el 1 de enero de 2010 y es padre o madre de un ciudadano o residente permanente legal de los EE. UU. nacido en o antes del 20 de noviembre de 2014.

Ciertas complicaciones legales han demorado el inicio del programa DAPA. Un juez federal de Texas dictó un mandato judicial temporal que ha detenido la implementación del programa; el gobierno federal lo va a apelar. DAPA UpdateThe Deferred Action For Parents Accountability (DAPA) program will grant certain parents the legal right to stay in the U.S. You may qualify if you have lived continuously in the U.S. since January 1, 2010 and are the parent of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident child who was born on or before November 20, 2014.

Legal challenges have delayed the DAPA program’s start. A federal court judge in Texas issued a temporary injunction that stopped the program’s implementation; the federal government is appealing. The 32BJ Legal Fund is ready to help eligible 32BJ members submit a DAPA application if the government appeal wins in court and the program takes effect.
