How it all started
• This project began with the classroom reading in 3rd grade of the story of Balto.
• Fourth graders read Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner and Black Star, Bright Dawn by Scott O’Dell.
• Third and fourth graders did research in the library using the next 3 slides that were posted on a wiki.
• The purpose of the research was to build background knowledge and improve the quality of the questions the students would ask.
