time embeddedtele-health
monitoring system
Now a day's healthcare industry is to provide better healthcare to people
anytime and anywhere in the world in a more economic and patient
friendly manner. In the present paper the physiological parameters such
as ECG, Pulse rateand Temperature are obtained, processed
using ARM7 LPC 2138 processor and displayed in a MATLAB graphical
user interface. If any vital parameter goes out of normal range then alert
SMS will be sent to Doctor Mobile. This system is utilizing Teamviewer
software and low cost component to transmit ECG data to physicians for
monitoring, diagnosisand patients care at a significantly low cost,
regardless of patient's location.

2 Harnessing and securing cloud in
patient health monitoring
A first proposal to use a secure open cloud architecture (OpenCloudCare)
for remote patient health monitoring defines the front end and back end
architecture that would integrate healthcare devices into the enterprise
cloud. This service oriented architecture (SOA) uses existing open source
resources for easy implementation, migration and rapid deployment. The
introduction of the atlas middleware in the cloud environment enables
scalable integration of devices as software services without worrying on
hardware details. OpenCloudCare has the potential to enable the
independent living for the aged people with minimal cost. Like Amazon
EC2, OpenCloudCare can emerge as the de-facto platform, on which
different vendors and developers can offer wider range of services using
existing devices and enterprise applications. The benefits of migrating
existing patient monitoring systems into cloud and the migrating process
are also discussed. The major components required for securing the cloud
infrastructure are also identified. Complying with the federal
requirements on electronic health record (EHR) protection is the major
challenge.

7 Intelligent Monitoring and Control
Rendered to Street Lighting
Intelligent Monitoring and Control Rendered to Street Lighting is a novel
idea to wirelessly control street lights. Every individual streetlight i.e.
node has a unique IPv6 andIEEE address through which it can be
controlled from the control centre. The system is designed using a
microcontroller MSP430F6636 and an RF IC CC1180. The RF IC is used
for sending and receiving the monitoring andcontrol signals to and from
the control centre. The microcontroller processes the signals obtained
from the RF IC as well as the lamp. Messages are sent from control centre
to nodes via gateway, which is a node with a GPRSmodule. The gateway
passes the messages to the respective nodes by hopping the message
between the nodes. The communication between nodes takes place in
ISM band and that between gateway and control centre through GPRS.

Automatic as well as manual remote switching on or off of individual
lamps, controlling their light intensity and acquisition of status and failure
is possible. Through this system we can save almost 50% of the power
consumed just by strategically dimming lights. Maintenanceand patrol
costs are also reduced. This paper attempts to make this system as
flexible, compact and cost effective as possible, also the front end can be
modified to suit any application. View full abstract»

9 Implementation of children tracking
system on android mobile terminals
Recently, all over the world crime against children is increasing at higher
rates and it is high time to offer safety support system for the children
going to schools. This paper focuses on implementing children tracking
system for every child attending school. However the existing systems are
not powerful enough to prevent the crime against children since these
systems give information about the children group andnot about each
child resulting in low assurance about their child safety to
parents and also does not concentrate on sensing the cry of the
child and intimating the same to its parents. The proposed system
includes a child module andtwo receiver modules for getting the
information about the missed child on periodical basis. The child module
includesARM7 microcontroller (1pc 2378) Global positioning system
(GPS) Global system for mobile communication (GSM) Voice playback
circuit and the receiver module includes Android mobile device in
parent's hand and the other as monitoring database in control room of the
school. Finally implementation results for the proposed system are
provided in this paper. View full abstract»

11 GPRS-based remote
sensing and teleoperation of a mobile
robot
The main objective of this research was to design andimplement a remote
sensing and monitoring system running on mobile robot with obstacle
avoidance capability in unreachable area. A simple mobile robot
prototype with onboard sensors has been designed and implemented to
scan and monitor several variables in the surrounding environment.
Teleoperation of such a mobile robot is a challenging task that requires an
efficient interface and a reliable real-time robot control to avoid obstacles.
The proposed system enables the user (base station) to send commands to
the remote station (mobile robot), and receive scanned data and images
from the environment through the internet and mobile DTMF signal. The
proposed system hardware and software was implemented using
PROTUS development software to obtain the suitable design parameters.
Then, real experiments have been achieved to demonstrate the system
performance including both the ultrasonic teleoperation of mobile robot
navigation to avoid obstacles, and real-time sensing and monitoring in
unreachable area. View full abstract»

12 Cloud Controlled Intrusion Detection and
Burglary Prevention Stratagems in Home
Automation Systems
Security surveillance partakes in significant number of home automation
systems, deploying digital cameras and sensors to monitor and report
intrusion events and thereby reducing damages caused by burglary. In this
paper, we present the design, implementation and operation of a cloud
connected adhoc wireless home automation system with en suite intrusion
detection and burglary prevention stratagems. Along with an improved
infrared camera, each node of our home automation system has devised
intelligent algorithms for intrusion detection and subsequently reports
any event to a location-aware cloud service in real-time. In case of an
intrusion event, another cloud service alerts the user with a SMS
conversation. The user can then monitor the intrusion from anywhere, on
any Internet enable device by accessing the cloud’s web interface. If
theintrusion is genuine, the user is provided with options to stealthily alert
neighbors (who are using our home automation system), play alarm
sounds or even report to the police. Using these techniques, burglary can
be evaded effectively

13 Design of remote data acquisition system
based on 3G
Data acquisition plays an important role in the field of modern industry
control. In many cases, remote data should be transferred to monitor
center which is far away from the manufacturing field. Traditional data
acquisition system by means of wires could not satisfy the requirements.
With the rapid development of embedded system, wireless
communication technology and 3G technology, the remote data
acquisition system which is based on embedded systems platforms and
depend on 3G as wireless data transmit terminals, will be used widely on
industry. This paper presents a new data acquisition and analyzing system
based on 3G technology. In addition, this paper also expresses that the
system based on 3G has many more advantages than that based on GPRS
technology. ARM embedded processor and SIM308 are used as the
hardware platform in this project. The result of the experiment shows that
the system works well to data acquisition and wireless transferring based
on 3G, and has a reference value for remote diagnosis, remote monitoring
and control.

14 GPRS-Based Embedded Remote Power
Management System
This paper implements a GPRS-based embedded system for load
management system in real time remote operation to power equipments in
general applications. The proposed system is designed using a 32-bit
ARM-7 embedded microprocessor system to carry on power data
processing and relay control through GPRS mobile communication. In
order to provide a cost-effective, wireless, always-connected, two-way
data lnk function capability, the proposed system establlshes a remoter
monitor and control center to manage power equipment operation data,
power parameters and outage signals. To activate the data flow, GPRS is
used to handle real time message in two ways, from equipments to the
control server, and from operator to the equipments. In this paper, the
proposed system is successfully built up, and a full function of real time
remote operation is tested with data collection, especially at a system
outage. This paper verifies the proposed system is useful and effective to
power equipment monitor and control in a real time and mobile condition.

20 Home Automation using Cloud Network
and mobile devices
Today, we are entering post-PC era where mobile devices (e.g. iPads,
Smartphones and Handheld tablets) are handling daily tasks that
traditional desktop and laptop computers once handled. Several reports
show that personal computers are no longer on the leading the edge of
computing and the use of mobile devices are quickly taking
over.Accompanying the shift from PCs to multi-touch mobile devices is
the use and implementation of Cloud Networking. With the availability of
products which integrate mobile devices and cloud networking rapidly
increasing, many users can see how new technology can impact their
everyday lives. In this paper we have developed a Home Automation
system that employs the integration of multi-touch mobile devices, cloud
networking, wireless communication, and power-line communication to
provide the user with remote control of various lights and appliances
within their home. This system uses a consolidation of a mobile phone
application, handheld wireless remote, and PC based program to provide
a means of user interface to the consumer. The home automation system
differs from other systems by allowing the user to operate the system
without the dependency of a mobile carrier or Internet connection via the
in-home wireless remote. This system is designed to be low cost and
expandable allowing a variety of devices to be controlled

21 Wireless Smart Power Saving System For
Home Automation
Mostly in home and office appliances like light and fan are manually
controlled which leads to power wastage. They are left ON even if there
is no usage and even when the appliances are in use their operation is not
controlled by environmental conditions like daylight and temperature
variation. By making a smart automated controlling system for appliances
we can save the power by huge amount. In this paper we are providing a
solution for preventing the wastage of power in a comfortable and cost
effective way. Our system consists of an electronic door lock and power
saving module. When the person enters the correct password in door lock
the power saving module is switched on. The power saving module
switches the appliances in the room based on the presence of the person.
It also controls the power delivered to fan and light according to
temperature of room and natural daylight intensity
