Mission of the IEEE Awards Program

Through its Awards Program, the IEEE advances the interests of its members by recognizing their contributions in advancing the fields of interest to IEEE to the benefit of society.

The IEEE Awards Program honors members and other professionals for their service to society.

Main Objectives of the IEEE Awards Program

Recognize outstanding achievements in electro and information technology

Provide inspiration and role models

Personalize achievements of the profession

Improve the image and prestige of the IEEE

Annual IEEE Honors CeremonyIEEE Institute Medals are presented by the IEEE President at the annual IEEE Honors Ceremony. This ceremony is usually held Saturday evening at the June Meeting Series.

IEEE Sections Congress is a triennial, 4-day event of Section leadership sponsored by the RAB.

Hundreds of delegates from all 10 Regions participate to share ideas, concerns and solutions.

1,000 attendees are expected for SC2008.

SC08 participants will be encouraged to attend the 2008 IEEE Honors Ceremony, hosted by 2008 IEEE President Lewis M. Terman.

The Honors Ceremony theme is “Innovating to Meet the World’s Challenges”.
